Jim -- all of your points go back to my original question and the what I said I just don't get --- how can thinking people continue to remain members of the church. From my perspective, that would no longer be in the best interests of my children.

Well, your perspective is not the perspective of actually having two young children, nor is your perspective the perspective that I have from my long acquaintance and association with this Church and school.

Therefore our perspectives are very different. Perhaps it would be best if we left it at that.

I know our perspectives are different, that's why I'm trying to understand.

Every major religion teaches morals, ethics, and good works. Every religion has good people doing good works. Many religions offer schools as places to imbue their philosophies within the educational process. But not every religion has had the issues and problems the Catholic church has. So why stay a member? Is it simply "what you know" and comfort? It is family tradition? Is it the dogma? Is it the specific people within that church a particular individual or family interacts with?

What that is specific to the Catholic church which keeps people members, even then they disagree with so many things the church does?

Mostly the idea of "One Church". Since the before the reformation there has been friction between the concept of "Gods one true Church" and the obvious fallibility of those running it.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

God's one "true church" is the "Bride of Christ" which encompasses ALL BELIEVERS WORLD WIDE.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I'm sorry Guin, but I think we're just going round and round in circles at this point...

You say you don't understand, and I explain....

And then you say you don't understand, and I explain again, as clearly as I know how...

And then you again say you don't understand ...

I just don't see this process getting us anywhere....
