For some it is the anniversary of when the great banker declared our ultimate mortgage was paid in full.

IMNSHO, The great banker also announced that the manager in charge of mortgage foreclosures was fired and that whole department was eliminated. Yes, I know that is the classic heresy of Universal Salvation, but that's ok. It just means lots of others have also believed it.

I guess it could make a difference if we wanted to celebrate Good Friday/Easter as an anniversary of a date (much as we celebrate Christmas), but I guess the Astrologer's union was a bit too strong and so we had to let the Vernal Equinox and phases of the moon dictate the date of celebration. :D

FWIW, I honestly can't see the date making all that much of a difference--we celebrate Christmas on a day that even the Bible suggests is not Jesus' actual birth date, but it does not change the significance of what is being celebrated.
