That's 3 years of Australian Open eligibility down the drain

Pope Benedict Admits To Giving False Testimony In German Sex Abuse Case
The law firm’s report noted that minutes from the 1980 meeting, about the transfer of an abusive priest to Munich, recorded Benedict as present and rejected his written testimony that he wasn’t there as “barely credible.”

Ganswein insisted that the omission “was the result of an oversight in the editing” of his testimony and “not done out of bad faith . . . He is very sorry for this mistake and asks to be excused,” Ganswein said, adding that Benedict will make a statement about how the error happened after he is done reading the nearly 2,000-page report.

Lucky he didn't claim infallibility for the statement, otherwise we might have a real vatican crisis. :D

Barely credible? More like an outright lie.

He would have been better off saying he couldn’t remember whether he was there or not, and then having his recollection refreshed by the minutes.

Well, he did benefit somewhat from his sojourn in Rome. Now he only denies the hypocaust.

And all this time I had thought Pope Benedict was a good egg. He should lose his papal pension and be forced to confess his sin to Pope Francis on FOX news on the Tucker Carlson show.

Oh this is Benedict not the current one that makes more sense. They should come up with a way of clarifying that.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

In the story they managed to do it:
Retired Pope Benedict XVI has admitted to giving false testimony in a German sex abuse case.
Pow to the Papal!

The Catholic church in the United States should have been shut down and had all assets seized as an organized criminal organization.
