I challenge you all, everyone except Shit Head, to do small acts of kindness. When I visit fast‑food restaurants, which I do once or twice a week, I tip the person working the drive‑thru window a dollar when they hand me my food.

I realize most people don’t do that. Maybe it’s because many can’t afford it. But I think everyone on this forum could afford it. It’s just $2 a week—about $8 a month. The people working in these restaurants make minimum wage, if that. If most people who pick up food at the drive‑thru tipped that worker even a dollar, it would make a real difference in their day, and it wouldn’t cost any of us very much.

So, I challenge you: do small acts of kindness whenever you can.

What is wrong with encouraging people to do good? It’s such a small thing, but it can make a big difference in someone’s life — maybe even help them pay a bill. Some people simply can’t afford to give, and others… well, you’d need a crowbar, the jaws of life, or even dynamite to open their purse. But we can only do so much.

There are some things we simply can’t do. For example, we can’t give away our country, because it doesn’t belong entirely to us. It belongs to the next generation — our children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and young cousins. We are merely the country’s stewards for those who come after us.

There's nothing wrong with encouraging people to help other people.

No, that’s not right. I’m not important. I was simply trying to encourage people to make the world a better place. It would seem that here you would take it as a challenge, because if little old ignorant, illiterate, backwoods white trash like me can do it, surely sophisticated people like you can. But I doubt people would do it, because there’s no write‑off, there’s no recognition, and it’s not expected.

I can’t verify this, but it seems that some of the most generous people in the country are moderates and conservatives. Others may also support charitable causes, but often through public funds rather than personal giving.

Save your dollar. Maybe you’d like to donate to what you would consider a more worthy cause, like the list below:

• The Loch Ness Investigation Bureau
• The Cat Boat (De Poezenboot)
• Buglife
• Save the Frogs!

IMHO, charity is best done when it is anonymous and this is encouraged in most religions and moral codes. While there is a benefit to setting an example for others to follow, such as becoming a published benefactor of an arts organization or museum, I have usually found this is donor more by the benefactor for the recognition than demonstrating an example. Personally, I think the same example can be illustrated by a gift listed as anonymous, but that's just me. In any event, regardless of why a gift is given, it still benefits the recipient so I will not condemn it. Of course, there are times when gifts are given so someone may sieze control of the organization and move it in a different direction (where have we seen that recently? ), but then that's not charity.

All the other words "when, visit, fast-food, restaurants, which, do, once, or, twice, week, tip, person, working, drive-thru, window, dollar" appear only once each. Even articles such as "a" and "the" only make it twice.

Also you don't appear to be ignorant, illiterate, or trash so be more positive old boy, more positive.
