Steve Williams received a mock award on Friday night for ‘‘celebration of the year’’ for his TV interview after Adam Scott won the Bridgestone Invitational.
That was the day Williams said it was ‘‘the best win of his life’’, despite being on the bag with Woods for 13 majors.
At an awards party filled with banter, Williams said of his interview: ‘‘It was my aim to shove it right up that black arsehole.’’
That line drew the biggest reaction at a party attended by several players, caddies, officials and some media.
There was a mixture of laughter and shock, with some players turning to each other with eyes widened and jaws agape.
The provision of the party is that all comments are off the record, yet several caddies couldn’t stop talking about it long after it was over.
Approached early the next morning at breakfast, Williams was stunned to learn that British tabloids had gone with the story.
‘‘Why would they do that?’’ he said. ‘‘The whole thing was meant to be fun.’’

While I'm very sensitive to the misapplication of the term "racist" (having seen it grossly abused countless times; both by media pundits, and our dear friend mediator, over at the CSB) , I'd have to say that while it doesn't rank that highly on the racist comments meter, it could qualify....
It's certainly "racially tinged" and brings in race gratuitously...
If someone referred to an Asian person as "that yellow sonofabitch" I think most people would see that remark as having an element of racism to it. This looks like the same thing to me....
From everything I have read, Mr. Williams has good reason to harbor anger and resentment towards Woods, regarding the manner and timing of his abrupt firing after 12 years of loyal work. Woods treated him shabbily, as he has many others, (first and foremost his ex-wife)

Surely, Mr. Williams is aware that Woods is a "post racial" figure in the world's consciousness. He is no more thought of as a "Black" man than he is as a "Thai" man. He's just a guy.

(b) nothing Williams ever says can diminish Woods' accomplishments as a golfer, which are unique and extraordinary, regardless of anything he every did in his personal life, or whether he ever reaches the same level again.

I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

Because their skin is not yellow. It comes in varying degrees what we call white, from very light to dark brown, just like Caucasians ( honkeys) .
