But where is Tiger on the all-asshole scale? Ok, quite a bit of sexual misconduct and he fired an employee who is pissy about it. But then he also made that employee's career and he was at at-will employee.

But where would you rank him against these:

From what I've seen on this, on the incident Paterno was told about, (in 2002) Paterno did exactly what he was supposed to do, (the guy wasn't working for Paterno; he had retired by then) Paterno immediately reported what he had been told to his superiors at Penn State...

They failed to follow their legal responsibility and report it to the police, and they have been indicted for that failure.

Why don't you refrain from responding to me if you can't limit yourself to what I actually wrote, okay? Here it is very obvious to anyone with half a brain that I am discussing pedophilia at Penn State (the victim witnesses saw being raped was 10), pedophilia in the Boy Scouts (generally scouts are children, not adults), and pedophilia in the RC Church - where priests molested altar BOYS and STUDENTS at RC boarding & parochial schools.

Keep it up and you'll get double billing on the asshole list, dear.

Those are both mischaracterizations of what happened, BSG:

A 2011 grand jury investigation reported that a graduate assistant told Paterno in 2002 that he had seen Sandusky performing a sex act on a 10-year-old boy in Penn State football's shower facilities. According to the report, Paterno notified Athletic Director Tim Curley the next day about the incident.

He neither witnessed, it, nor was he told about it by the perp. He was told about it, after the fact, by a third party...

Why isn't anyone asking why the graduate assistant didn't go straight to the police?

What he maybe should have done that he didn't, was to keep after the Athletic Director to make sure he did what he was supposed to do...

But it's a huge bit of hyperbole to accuse him of "protecting" his "pet pedophile" when he did in fact report what he had been told by a third party.
