It looks like KRS-One's role as hip-hop's Teacha will extend beyond sonning lesser MCs on his upcoming twentieth album, Just Like That. On the record's latest single, "Aztechnical," he takes on the myths of 2012. In particular, he addresses the Mayan calendar's end-of-the-world date of Dec. 21, 2012. And just so you know he's not messing around, KRS waxes philosophical on the topic for six (!) minutes. It's much more intriguing that it sounds and it's got pretty decent visuals to boot. Now, I generally don't enjoy Rap because of its usual violent and/or sexist background. That, and IMHO most Hip Hop lyrics aren't written with much creativity. However, there are a few artists who go beyond the standard formulas and KRS-One (an acronym for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone Wiki) is down right rare, in that he brings together intelligent prose, historical detail and a spiritual message.
