Down on their knees for the Pope

Post by Scooter »

There's a certain poetic justice:
The Pope has been tricked into blessing two porn actors and a video of the moment is set to be included in a new Bel Ami gay movie.

That's according to famous gay porn producer and Bel Ami founder George Duroy who annouced the news on an online forum.

The new film, Scandal in Vatican, is going to be released in September. It is the story of a couple of young priests, dressed as Catholic clerical students, who enjoy their sex experiences in the little country in the heart of Italy’s capital, Rome.

And viewers will see Pope Benedict XVI blessing the main actors in a Vatican meeting. The Pope didn’t know about their jobs and, according to producer Duroy, the scene will be the film’s most interesting part.

Way to boost your movie there....
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I think Catholics world wide should storm the embassies of every country who dares show this film and kill all of the ambassadors.

Nah older, we're used to abuse...

As I've said before, if I were going to riot every time my Catholic religion was held up to scorn or ridicule, I'd have time for little else....

I'd have to spend all my time in my basement building pipe bombs and suicide vests... 8-)

Some people just need to get over themselves, grow up, join the 21st Century, and realize "they ain't all that"...

And if somebody insults your religion, get over it....

It doesn't give you the right to go out and kill somebody...

Seems some may need a little "help" getting over it.
I say we stand at the embassy walls and throw shoes at them.

Handing it out more than taking it:

"She's a heretic, let's BURN HER!"

Decades later:

"Oh wait, no she's not. Let's make her a saint so no one will blame us."

Ohhhh shiny! Everything's alright now.

Damn straight Dales! :D
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Another big news story of year concerned the ecumenical council in Rome, known as Vatican II. Among the things they did in an attempt to make the church more commercial was to introduce the vernacular into portions of the mass, to replace Latin, and to widen somewhat the range of music permissible in the liturgy, but I feel that if they really want to sell the product, in this secular age, what they ought to do is to redo some of the liturgical music in popular song forms. I have a modest example here. It's called The Vatican Rag.

First you get down on your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head with great respect,
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Do whatever steps you want, if
You have cleared them with the Pontiff.
Everybody say his own
Kyrie eleison,
Doin' the Vatican Rag.

Get in line in that processional,
Step into that small confessional,
There, the guy who's got religion'll
Tell you if your sin's original.
If it is, try playin' it safer,
Drink the wine and chew the wafer,
Two, four, six, eight,
Time to transubstantiate!

So get down upon your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head with great respect,
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Make a cross on your abdomen,
When in Rome do like a Roman,
Ave Maria,
Gee it's good to see ya,
Gettin' ecstatic an'
Sorta dramatic an'
Doin' the Vatican Rag!

Absolutely no interest in punctuation.

Just more smarmy bullshit.

Tom Lehrer taught at UCSC just up the street from here in both mathematics and musical theater. I saw his class perform a piece they wrote and staged on a number of occasions. "people are starving in China" was one tune they wrote. Nice fellow. He lived here for decades and I used to see him walking on west cliff drive.

He retired a few years ago.

I thought the song was so well known that attribution was superfluous.
