Walmart Elmo birthday cake for Cayden Bibeau, 2, had knife in it: father Nathan Bibeau, of Lewiston, Maine, may sue, saying the episode left the family ‘disappointed and upset.’

A Maine toddler's birthday party was cancelled after his dad discovered a knife in his Elmo cake.
Nathan Bibeau, of Lewiston, said he was furious on finding the blade in the pastry bought for his two-year-old son Cayden from Auburn Walmart.
The young father,
who is now thinking about suing the chain, said the family were left "disappointed and upset."
Guests started to leave the party and the incident "
put a dampener" on everything, he claimed.
A relative found the knife as they cut through the cake, he said, before adding: "We're not going to get that second birthday back ever."
Walmart has since apologized and offered a refund for the cake.
Walmart birthday cake for Cayden Bibeau was a huge disappointment, says his father.
Spokesman Kayla Whaling told WGME, "this should not have happened. We're thankful no one was hurt and sincerely apologize to our customers for their experience."
She added that the store was now banning the use of pairing knives at its bakeries across the country.

I probably shouldn't judge a dumbshit man by his looks. After all, I'm sure there was much trauma caused by him planting finding that knife in the cake.

Are you implying that Walmart bakes prison break cakes?
Nothing those anti-union baker/scabs at Walmart do would surprise me.
They probably want prisoners to escape so they can hire them at minimum wage with no benefits.

So they cancelled the party because of this... Yeah right!
Guests started to leave because of this? Not the kind of guests I'd want at a party.
Obviously this shouldn't have happened but they are just setting it up for a lawsuit now.

... at Cayden's party" just wouldn't sound right when filing the civil suit. This smells like a quick $5K out-of-court settlement to me. I'm guessing next year's cake will be concealing an IED, or worse, an IUD. Ewww!
We're going to DisneyWorld.

How come I put this thread in the "Philosophy and Religion" forum?
I thought I'd ask before someone else does.

Maybe there's a philosophical reason for this thread. Maybe I was exploring the mindset of a person who would feel that he should be compensated for finding a knife in a birthday cake.
What kind of philosophical outlook does this man possess? Does he believe he is owed something by Walmart, Big Business or maybe even Wall street?
Does he adhere to the idea that one should get what one can from others by any means possible because this is a 'dog eat dog' world and nobody is handing him anything?
Was he abused and neglected as a child? Has the fact that he looks stupid influenced his philosophical views and caused him to be devious?
I'm pretty sure that's what I was thinking when I chose this forum. I'm sure that I assumed the highly intelligent posters here would spot my motivation immediately.

... the gentleman doth think too much.
I think your head must be hurting after such a philosophical ponderance, heh? Which begs this posit; does anyone really give a rats ass?

Didn't care enough to give it much thought. Figgered you did, thus the x ray vision remark.

You know, I've noticed in the cutlery drawer that pairing knives just causes them to have those chubby little cheese knives by the dozen. The only humane way to rid oneself of those is to bake them inside cup cakes and give them away to fromage-loving minors.
"Paring" you Moran, Lee

It's just a 'king cake" with a knife as a prize instead of a trinket.

It seems to me that using a partial quote in order to change it's context and make a derogatory remark about the UK may be a tad hypocritical from someone who got so worked up over a perceived slight against the US oldr...

It was my misunderstanding and it was settled with the other party.
Hasn't the UK talked aobut banning certain sized knives?
Or have I misunderstood again?

The fact remains oldr, you got worked up when you thought somebody was having a dig at the US but are happy to have a little dig at the UK.
