We're talking about an investment in an unknown outcome.
We're doing so on grounds not entirely rooted in logic.
Pondering the extent of such investments are inherently philosophical.
We usually spend (more than once we've been lucky enough to have not spent anything or even come out ahead (for instance our honeymoon (with the exception of the hotel room) was paid for by our winnings on our first night)) $100 each but that is for a two or three night trip at the casino. We'll only be at the casino one night this time but this will be our last trip in a while and I won't be drinking as much and my wife at all and generally will be favoring the sedentary considering my wifes condition (though we probably will walk downtown (weather permitting) since we're usually there off season when most of the shops are closed.
So long story short should we trim it reflecting the shorter stay or keep it as is reflecting the last hurrah of the event? Or some other amount reflecting something I have not yet considered? (like the expense in Canada due to exchange rates)
What say you all?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
If you can afford it then go for the $200 depending on what you plan on playing that could either last you a good long time (video poker) or be gone in very short order (table games). I aim to recoup my stake by skimming off 20% -50% from each win payout no matter how small and putting that in another pocket, whilst replaying the rest, this most often means I play for a good long while with the casinos own money rather than my own, when thats all gone I go back to the pocket and count up whats in it, anything over my original stake gets played again, if I'm down then I take half and play that, if I'm still down I usually decide my lucks not in and walk away and console myself that I didn't lose the lot.
I've been backing horses for the past 3 years using the bookies money, can't remember the last time I deposited any of my own Last time we were in Vegas I wasn't doing too well with the poker machines but made up for it with a couple of decent track wins which kept me playing
If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you may have misjudged the situation.
I don't recall what casino you said you were going to, but I used to split the difference and gamble half of the time, then go see the shows the other half.
Such as in Las Vegas, 'off the strip' has some very good museums and shows.
I always go on about the Lipizzaner Stallions, and many moons ago I saw George Carlin in concert.

I'm not the one to ask advice as I've never have been, and probably never will go, to a casino. Don't know the rules of the games, and would be throwing money away to no real end. Never found the "excitement" of gambling, but sometime have put a $10 punt on the outcome of a rugby/cricket match at the bookies.
Wat excitement? Take a laxative and a sleeping pill at the same time, see which one wins.

My dad once told me something that always made perfect sense. Don't gamble with money you can't afford to loose. When you sit down at the table consider the money in your hand already gone that way you will not be overly disappointed if it's lost.
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.

I think you should give $100 each to 10 winos and tell them to bet all of it once in the quarter slots and then come back and split the winnings with you. Just hang by the pool and enjoy umbrella drinks while you wait, let them do all the hard work of gambling for you.
