I wonder if people who post fluoride conspiracies actually get that I'm either quoting or paraphrasing General Jack D. Ripper in response?

You know what grinds my gears?

Software "upgrade" notices, emails from utility companies encouraging you to "go green", etc. that give you a choice between "do it now" and "remind me later"...

How about a third choice?

"NEVER fucking ask me this question again, or I'll slap you into the middle of next week"...

One of my dogs got stuck under the bed this morning, such that I had to remove the mattress and box springs to free her.

How the heck does that happen??

Time for the dog's annual health visit. This always sets me back about $400. They want a small stool sample, only fresh poo will do, so I have to sit and wait for nature to take its course. I wish I had thought to teach her poop on command.

It's never too later sir.

Thank you General. Good day to you sir. You are in my random thoughts and I hope all is well with you and yours. :ok
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Am I the only one who's noticed that Bernie Sanders sounds a lot like Jackie Mason?

We just watched Transylvania 6-5000 ...

I'd never watched it before, it gets a big 4.8 on IMDB, but I actually thought it was funny...

But then I also liked Earth Girls Are Easy, so what do I know...

BATS! I love them - had to help one out of the heating duct once (gloves on to avoid getting bitten) and was heartwarmed to see how cute they are up close.

Brown bats are now a species of concern, dying off by the millions thanks to some cavers who brought white nose disease to the USA from Europe on their dirty boots. It's crazy how little it takes to upset the balance of nature.

eta: Actually, it's not just brown bats, and many other species are now endangered due to the effects of white nose syndrome. Millions upon millions have died, and the effect on US agriculture will be severe, as billions of insects won't be eaten by those millions of bats.

Just one more way we've screwed the ecosystem and ourselves. :(
