Someone I know was surprised to learn that they will garnish your social security for student load debt and that it will indeed follow you to the grave.

It occurred to me this morning that the lives of Eleanor Rigby and Father McKenzie probably would have been quite different if they had had access to the internet.

I could have dealt with the need to use incontinence products while my body relearns how to function after prostate surgery. But throwing my back out while brushing my teeth makes me feel old before my time.

Back when I had to work for a living, I took a course in Economics and the instructor claimed the most common back injury was for a man, leaning over sink and sneezing while shaving.

That's essentially what happened, except I didn't have to sneeze.

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
I have cared for a couple of patients who had fractures associated with sneezing. Scary.

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Just to let you know that my email spam folder now receives hardly any "secrets of elongation" submissions. These have been thoroughly trounced by a perceived need for me to obtain "bitcoins" and a new minority of offers to help me with tinnitus. These both puzzle me as I've never AFAIK shown any interest in bitcoins or ear maladies.
However, I am concerned a wee bit because a friend from years ago and I have exchange emails recently and he has mentioned his own tinnitus in a couple of messages.
Is anyone's big brother watching?

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

This topic was discussed in another thread - yes, big tech is legally surveilling your content and even conversations for marketing purposes. You agreed to it, it’s in the small print of the user terms & conditions.

It's the active ingredient in the eyedrops — it used to be belladonna, but now I think it's something called Atropine.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Maybe this is a whooooosh but deadly nightshade is Atropa belladonna hence the name of the alkaloid. Nowadays it's synthesized.

In a development fitting for a 1980’s tv series plot my sons friend hit his head and developed amnesia.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Home for Random Thoughts
It's only worthy of a 1980s TV plot if he first disappeared and was presumed dead, and then returned with amnesia (and a completely different face because he needed plastic surgery*).

I didn’t want to limit it to soap operas.

Be interesting to see how this person functions, i.e., how much knowledge has been forgotten. I guess the one sliver of upside is forgetting all the stupid and/or unkind things that one might have done or said, going forward without that baggage. Of course, it is the human condition to fill those bags up.
