@W how is the @hub doing?

After another roller-coastering three week stint at Yale (all started by getting the battery on her pacer replaced) I'm thrilled that Mom is getting discharged to rehab probably Monday. Once again, it was a close call, and I'm thankful she found the strength to pull through. I'm also selfishly happy to be at my own lovely home this weekend, enjoying this glorious August weather.

Thanks LJ, managing her health issues and then with the two deaths layered on top of it all, well, its been an exhausting time. I couldn't even attend Cheryl's funeral because I was in New Haven with Mom. Glad we're all breathing better now (literally).

Glad everyone is doing better.
My dad was diagnosed with the early stages of prakinsons. They gave his some drugs and he says he's feeling better already. His left hand doesn't shake as much and he's walking better.

I was perusing the sport section of our local bird cage liner, and saw where they have a "latest line" for the upcoming pre-season games...

How badly addicted to sports gambling must you be, to bet on a pre-season NFL game; a game which has none of the elements a gambler might look at in the regular season...

A game full of no name characters being tossed out to see how they perform in a contest that has no significance...A game where the "real" players play for only a few minutes, so they can get warmed up and avoid injury, and you can't predict when they will actually be on the field...

One would have to be insane to place a wager on a game like that...

I turned 55 the other day and while my skin remains fairly free of wrinkles (around the eyes when I smile) I did develop 2 zits.
