I was hoping it stayed cold. I need the lakes to freeze over so we can do some all day snowmobiling. The lakes are the connection points to many a trail, otherwise we can't go very far.
And I need snow. None of that around either.

It rained and turned to snow Saturday night and snowed gently all day Sunday. The driveway was slick as snot, with about 1/2" ice with snow over it. Sunny today, warming up with more snow on the way. Old man winter will not be kept down by the whippersnapper called El Nino. Back to work tomorrow, should be an interesting commute.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

So would everyone else, given how well the Acme devices worked for the Coyote.

But does the issue lie with the inferior quality of ACME's products or with the inept application demonstrated by Wylie E. Coyote "super genius"? Based on my memory of how it went down I would say in court of law Mr. Coyote would not make a case against ACME.

You may well be right; it's been a while since I've seen those cartoons.

...those were the days...

I want a few nice blood oranges, or even orange oranges, without all that skin and pith, that s all, just a few good oranges....

Toast. Bagels. English muffins. What are they really? This is it - they are useful ways to transport large lumps of melty, salty butter into the human mouth. There is no better way.

I believe I shall remove to the kitchen for two more slices of warm toast - embellished with large globs of unsalted butter (a dietary notion) which I shall improve by strategic use of the salt cellar

I will not deny that, MajGenl. sir, and I shall not stand in your way as you sally forth to engage your forces with the toaster.
BUT....!
Allow me to step in here and postulate that a delicacy known as "French Toast" not only allows for the transportation of lumps of melty, salty butter into the human mouth but also the delivery of substantial quantities of sweet, sticky, condensed tree sap to the same orifice.
And then there are waffles, with their individual pockets seemingly designed for the noble purpose of transferring as much of this delicious nectar per forkful as is humanly possible.

Aside from the syrup, the eggs and the waffles, you may have a point, Bill!
