Why do people use "incredible" when describing something they very much want you to actually believe?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I've never understood the expression, "shit eating grin"...

It seems to me that if you were eating shit, the last thing you'd be doing is grinning...

How did that wind up becoming an expression that connotes happiness?

I've always taken it as "a grin exhibiting great pride in something one has no business taking pride in".
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

This is what I usually picture when I think about a SEG.

As George Carlin said in the famed "Seven Dirty Words" monologue:
"Hot shit, holy shit, tough shit, eat shit, shit-eating grin.  Uh, whoever thought of that was ill."

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Hahahaha. Draw back in that photo, cabin is on the edge of a parking lot. The state owns the pond (I swim there on occasion). Not even close to "alone."

The acorns are large, fat and plentiful (overly so) this year. I think winter will be very bad. But the acorns have let me down before.
Filled up four 5 gallons pails of the damn things and probably have enough on the yard nad driveway for another four pails.
I'll get them up to Pa and the turkeys can have good meals during the winter.

There's a 5acre sump behind me, I'm surprised some turkeys have not taken up residence there. It's more like a nature preserve as the town hasn't done anything in there in at least 25 years. Plenty of oak trees and ferns and all the other wilderness trimmings.

There was a racoon (his name was Kevin) living there for a while, but he got hit by a car a few years ago.

Google has over 61,000 employees. What the hell do all of them do all day long? Sit at a computer and search for things? Other than designing software, they aren't building anything as far as I know. They probably farm any kind of manufacturing out to child laborers in some third world country, maybe even a fourth world country...

Here's Crazy Ted's place. I'm thinking it's the same architect -- Frank Lloyd Wrong, maybe?

Here is what turns up on a google image search for Ted Kacynski's cabin:

I know it was moved for evidence and later put on exhibit, but I don't know if that was near Guin's pond.

You were right, that's Ted's shed in the woods near Lincoln, Montana - before they moved it.

Here's Henry's cabin (reproduced) on Walden Pond (note it's shingled and very New Englandy-looking):

If we** weren't around to observe/record/describe the universe, would it still exist?

**by "we" I mean all life forms on earth

Unless we are the only life forms capable of doing so, I would think our existence would not matter one bit. but, if there were no life forms in existence that could perceive the universe, would it exist? And is the assumption that only life forms can perceive the universe as valid one? A rock can tell me what happened ages ago, but did it perceive those events?

And finally, does a vest have no sleeves or just very short sleeves?
