Learning? I think he's being immersed in it (and certainly providing his own experiences, from his "business" days).Big RR wrote:Yep Guin, the man is learning the seedier side of politics, as befits his personality.

No doubt he's well acquainted with unethical business spractices (although I think he's more of the Fredo Correlleone character and doesn't really have a grasp of what's going on), but the guy is hopelessly naieve in the political arena. Oh, he can mouth what others tell him to say loudly, but he has no real idea what he is doing (or what others are doing imn his name) preferring to jet off every weekend to Mar a Lago because there's nothing for him to do. But he may well learn some of it.

Some Thoughts on the F Bomb
Fuck You! is a euphemism.
Many years ago in this country, which now seems so far away, Jane Fonda was arrested for saying 'Fuck You' to a minor government functionary while she was mildly drunk. In court she defended herself by stating that she thought 'that is the nicest thing you can say to a person.'
And I agree. But it is almost universally taken as a gravely offensive. Because it is a euphemism. The F Bomb is really a substitute for the word rape. The message is 'Rape You."

How come people say, "I got that on tape" and "I filmed that"? Do they think their phones have Super .00000008 mm film and tiny little reel to reel audio tapes inside of them?
Are those people retarded or out of their trees or something?

Well, "I got that on FLASH memory" doesn't have the same kind of "ring" to it.
Maybe "I FLASHED that" will catch on.

I'm having one of those days where I want to shout a stream of obscenities. Might have something to go with the fact that the A/C went out on my truck once again. Can't be sure.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I can see you're a little "heated" Crackpot. You need to cool down.
My daughter just texted me (yes I read some of them, just can't type them) and she said her back window won't go up and makes a noise when she presses the button to make it go up.
Guess what I am doing after speaking at a meeting tonight?

Telling your daughter that God helps those who help themselves, and giving her the number of a good garage mechanic so she can get it fixed?oldr_n_wsr wrote:I can see you're a little "heated" Crackpot. You need to cool down.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

nothing like fixing a window at night--even in a garage the light won't be enough.

Try fixing it during the day?Big RR wrote:nothing like fixing a window at night--even in a garage the light won't be enough.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Took about 15minutes to remove the door panel. I had hoped it was just the window jumping out of the bracket, but of course not. chevy does this cable, spool, motor thing to move the window up and down and it seems the cable end pulled out of the spool. Today I found a new window motor/regulator for $50.95 (free shipping) and they had a video on how to replace it. Ordered the new one this morning.
Don't really need the video to show me how, but there was one trick in it that will save some time when I pull out the motor/regulator. Panel I got off just the way the video showed. Didn't take the motor/regulator out as I got the whole assembly to stay in the "window up" position and now I am waiting for the part. Should only be another 45min to an hour to finish the job.
I may take the motor/regulator out if I find some time this weekend to see if I can fix the cable and maybe return the new part. My daughter will save $50.95 if I can. Didn't look like the cable was broken, just pulled from the anchor point.
And that is my random thought.
oh wait, another thought
And yes, I have plenty of shop lights. I made the daughter stand there holding/pointing one while I worked. Easier than constantly stopping, readjusting where it's pointing then back to work. Of course I could have used my "head lamp" but that would have put her out of a job.
I amallabout putting peoplebackto work.

Well, of course. That's the same way my dad did it, even when I was a kid, when things needed fixing around the house. His idea was that the house kept me warm and dry too, so if he needed someone to hold a light or brace something I'd better not plan on doing anything else until the job was done.oldr_n_wsr wrote:And yes, I have plenty of shop lights. If you can hear crunching and grinding noises inside the door when you hit the switch, the motor is good. Regulators by themselves are much cheaper.
I've yet to see a regulator I could fix, and I've replaced a bunch of them. I've seen three back door windows on Jeep Grand Cherokees fall into their doors while sitting still for days. Poor design.
Rock Auto ROCKS in many areas. Regulators is one.
