Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Blast from the past - found while deleting old email files. On the sad passing of Yassir Arafat, Nov 2014
Goodbye mullah, 'bye intifaddah,
I am leaving Camp Ramallah.
Camp was very near a failure,
But we still want our Gaza with no Israelures!
Now I don't want this should faze ya,
But my body's in hyperesthesia
And I don't think they give diplomas,
For sensitive terror chiefs in terminal comas!
Take me home, I promise I will not make noise,
Or mess the house like other goys.
Oh please don't make me stay;
I won't last another whole day!
Wait a minute; I stopped breathing.
My wife is banking, guys are leaving.
Hating each other, gee that's better.
Intifaddah, kindly disregard this letter!

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Not very F, at times. (And BTW that's a laugh, TPFKA@W! I shall probably use it one day without attribution.)

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Despite our frequent differences of opinion, I hope nothing bad has happened to her. To quote John Donne,
No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Not spying, but my laundry room was the perfect place for one of the mesh wifi pods in my house. It's in the middle of the hallway that runs between the bedrooms, there is a shelf and power. Of course, who knows what evil spying apparatus has been installed with it. I'll probably get amazon recommendations for cooler underwear or something.Burning Petard wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 1:18 amOK. 'fess up. who among you has been spying on my laundry room?

Save the Earth--we might need it later. You never know.
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Save a tree, eat a beaver.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Years ago when I first got out of college, I worked in a lab where the head was a Chinese man from Taiwan. When he went on vacation one summer he brought in pictures, and in many his six year old son wore a T-shirt emblazoned with "Save a Tree Eat a Beaver". It took me some time to explain why that was probably not a good shirt to let his young son wear.
Come to think of it, he also used to call people "dumb baskets" in meetings (not directly, people who weren't there): he honestly thought it was a term meaning someone so dumb as to be in need of a basket to hold all the dumbness, and not a corruption of "dumb bastard" as I explained--he dropped the use of the term.

Some mistakes are so educational that I make them over and again for the sheer love of learning.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

And the Queen's workers serve her the best in vomit--think what Elizabeth is missing out on.
