Awww extra cuddles and a tasty chewy treat to take their minds off things.
Ralf had his done when he was being treated for breaking his leg when he took a tumble on the stairs. Our lovely vet hid the cost of it in the pet insurance claim.
I think Ralf failed to notice his little nuts were gone in his effort to destroy his plaster cast for the third time.

My grandmother (94 in July) has a crotchety old (20+) cat that will not let anyone but her, Liz, or myself near it...Liz's theory (explained to me while bandaging her hand after meeting the cat for the first time) is that each of them is determined to outlive the other, and as long as they stay that way, they will live forever!
