Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Well, you know good ol' rube...

Any reason is a good reason to hurl a gratuitous insult...

You put "politically correct" in your title and then you and others posted a series of cartoons that had been banned. Certainly the strong implication is that they were banned because they were deemed by someone to be "politically incorrect". If that is not the reason, then what did posting the cartoons have to do with the title in the first place.

I mean, come on guys, I know he's an easy target, but in this case he participated in the thread in exactly the same spirit that the rest of you did, to criticize the banning of cartoons based on someone's notion of political correctness. But apparently remaining on topic, agreeing with you, and not attacking any other poster who has commented isn't enough.

Maybe I completely misunderstood what happened, but please set me straight (pun intended).

I could be wrong, but I believe the videos are "banned" from public showing now, not back when they were made. The fact that they had a title that said "banned" had nothing to do with the point I was attempting to make.

I meant to say that cartoons like those were very funny and not unusual in those times.

Then someone came along and said "Only a moron correlates this to 'political incorrectness'."

Which I took as an attempt to insult me for something I hadn't done. I did not imply that anything was politically incorrect. In fact, just the opposite.

Was my reaction wrong?

Why?

Because, just like you had done, he posted a link to a video that he believed had been unjustly banned, and his comment on it was "Only a moron (being whoever banned the video) correlates this (being the video itself) to 'political incorrectness'." He was agreeing with you.

I interpreted it the same way Joe did...

I saw rube first making a contribution that was relevant to the thread and then tacking on a gratuitous insult, (in this case directed at Joe) unrelated to his relevant comment...

I think that's the most logical way to look at it, since that's what he usually does.

You're opinion of rubato's post in this thread is not based on his past performance.

Jim is correct.

Speaking of Spike Jones....

I was first introduced to Mr. Jones' work by Dr. Demento, back in the late 70's....

Here is probably his most famous bit, Cocktails For Two...:
