I used to laugh at those vox pops prior to the Iraq debacle who said we should "nuke the place till the sand turns to glass, so we can go skiing on the dunes," now I'm beginning to wonder.A video purporting to show the beheading of British hostage Alan Henning has been released by Islamic State militants.
The Salford taxi driver was delivering aid to Syria in December when he was kidnapped then held hostage by IS.
IS had threatened to kill the 47-year-old in a video showing the killing of Briton David Haines last month.
The UK Foreign Office said it was trying to verify the video, and if true it was a "further disgusting murder".
Prime Minister David Cameron said: "The brutal murder of Alan Henning by Isil [IS] shows how barbaric and repulsive these terrorists are...
"We will do all we can to hunt down these murdered and bring them to justice."
He said his thoughts were with the family of Mr Henning, who had gone to Syria to "help people of all faiths in their hour of need".
Mr Henning's wife Barbara had this week appealed for his release, saying: "He is innocent."
IS has previously released videos showing the apparent beheadings of two US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, and British aid worker Mr Haines.
The video released on Friday is yet to be verified, but it appears to show Mr Henning kneeling beside a militant, dressed in black, in a desert setting.
The footage ends with an IS fighter threatening a man they identify as an American.

I always though a small nuke on that cube-thing would be a lot more interesting
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

The astonishing thing is how profoundly they misunderstand the effects of these demonstrations on everyone else. Doing this has united the rest of the world against them and made it clear to everyone that they are merely evil thugs and must be exterminated.
Providing this level of moral clarity so that even somewhat radical Muslim states despise them, signals the end of them. Hitler understood that he should hide his evil. He used crematoria because fire is the only sure way of getting rid of evidence.*

Turkey has joined the coalition now -- good news. Now to strike down these thugs.

As to worshiping the cubic black building, the Kaaba, we absolutely do not worship it. The Prophet of Islam said that the spilling OF A SINGLE DROP OF BLOOD from a Believer is more dearer to Allah Almighty than the demolishing of the entire Kaaba. In other words, a single drop of blood from a Muslim Believer is more dearer to Allah Almighty than the entire black cubic building:
Allah's sentiments about it aside; It would be a good way of starting a religious war that might continue until one side or the other was annihilated utterly. So I would hope that no one tries it.
The Dalai Lama, some of the Amish, and very few others have demonstrated the greatness of heart to forgive something like that. Few others of any religion or culture, I would think.
