Well, friend it was like this: The people of this nation were at war with foreign nations, the Indians. The war was fought on the Indian’s terms, no rules. Perhaps a so called modern people should have held themselves to a higher standard, but when the Europeans arrived they socially were not much more advanced then the Indians, burning witches and such.Econoline wrote:The solution for "gangs running our inner cities and the cartels running our southern border" is *NOT* "guns, guns, and more guns."If an armed populace and a willingness to fight back is what can prevent genocide, how do you explain the genocide of the Native American tribes...and the survival of the Danish Jews?First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Communist, and I had my guns to protect myself.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist, and I still had my guns to protect myself.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew, and even then I still had my guns to protect myself.
Then they came for me—and there was no one keep them from prying my guns from my cold, dead hands.

Re: Uncle Ben's Rice...
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

The INDIANS dictated the terms? The smallpox-infected blankets? Slaughtering whole villages of women and children? Enslavement in the Missions? The extermination of 50 million buffalo to starve them into submission?
You are so far divorced from reality that you will never, ever, be able to get back.

Yes, when the Germans ceased rounding up Jews to send to their deaths and were content to simply pen them in the ghetto, the rate of rounding up Jews and sending them to their deaths did go down. I bet it was probably ... oh... zero. That's an acute observation there, rube.rubato wrote:MajGenl.Meade wrote:So the speed at which the Germans were able to operate was reduced by over 50% between 1942 and 1943. Remarkably effective.

correction: I posted the maximum rate which was over those two months. So it was 1/2 of the maximum rate during the uprising. The rate over the four months before the uprising was -0-. So the rate went up a great deal.

And you have still failed to admit that it has been proven that the uprising had no effect in reducing the rate of killing. Nice dodge.

Re: Uncle Ben's Rice...
that is perhaps the biggest bunch of bullshit that I have ever heard. "on the Indians terms, no rules"?
did you hear that on rush?
I m lucky in that one of the only places that the Indians were not ravaged was the lower shore. they are us, we integrated and assimilated. we are lucky. the black haired old women are still fairly numerous, out in the country and down by the water. we all, the old families anyway, have indian blood in us.
read about what happened to the Delaware Indians, it will make you sick. they were robbed and lied to. they were scattered to the winds and almost utterly destroyed, blamed on the fact the couple of Indians got pissed and did something stupid. taken advantage of because they liked this liquor thing that their bodies hadn t evolved to handle. straight up-lied to and swindled, even when they brought out the old treaty, spelled out in the knots they they recorded it with.

Dodging is entirely on your side, old boy. When the Germans were actively rounding up the Jews, the rate of their progress was vastly reduced when they were opposed. There was greater cost to the Germans but the cost to the Jews was no greater than it would have been anyway.
Two other obvious facts:
When the Germans were not rounding up Jews, the rate of roundups was zero and that of resistance was zero
Whether there was resistance or not, the final result was the same - everybody dies in the end
As to the Indians, they were as "noble" as all mankind is (or isn't). They were as capable of treachery and atrocity as anyone - they didn't learn it from invaders but practiced it quite well amongst themselves and especially against the whites. All sides of that conflict have shameful discredit as well as bravery and heroics. Plus it's racist to lump all tribes together as if they are one homogenous mass - they were not. South eastern tribes and south western tribes were as different from each other as were north eastern from the plains tribes.

yep, far from homogenous. they would have turned into peoples and countries similar to Europe s, given time.
some were warrior cultures, like, some were farmers, some were long established, some were blazing trails.
but the the Indians of the lower shore were the best of all..., they followed the sun until they found heaven.
the others were all children to them, the respected grandfathers...

Moron:
Republican U.S. presidential candidate Ben Carson wants the National Guard and military personnel patrolling the U.S.-Canada border.
Carson's call for troops is the sixth point in his "Seven Steps to a Safer America" plan unveiled Tuesday on his website.
U.S. President Barack Obama and Congress should immediately deploy the National Guard and military troops to patrol the U.S. southern border as well as designated spots along the northern border," the sixth step in the plan reads.
Carson's plan doesn't identify specific areas of the U.S.-Canada border that he feels needs military patrol.

You're a nasty little liar. The evidence of the Warsaw ghetto uprising is that armed resistance had no effect on the course of history at all. Admit it. Liar.

Well, as the girl sort of said of the starfish, it had an effect on their course of history... didn't it?German casualties are not known, but were not more than 300
