Re: A New Trump Thread...

when I first moved to Delaware I made the mistake of marking independent on my form and was registered as affiliated with the independent party, I changed it to un affiliated when I renewed my license
but back to trump...

Re: A New Trump Thread...
Was wondering what the 'J' in Trump's name stands for. I always thought it was 'Jag-off', but come to find out his middle name is 'John'.
Anyway, here's the easiest way I'll be able to remember that...

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Allowing "anyone" to vote in either party's primary is insanity.
And if the parties paid for and ran their own primaries, I'd be inclined to agree. But if the primary is paid for by the State elections department via public funds, then the State should be allowed to have whatever kind of primary is constitutionally (State constitution) allowable. Including OPEN primaries. The LAST entity to be responsible for holding elections is a political party.
That's why some States have caucuses. Primaries were meant to allow more folks into the pre-election process. It gives 3rd party candidates some chance, particularly in local elections (not just talking presidential primaries here). The problem is the parties co-opted the primaries into choosing party representatives instead of popular CHOICES. There's nothing in the Nation's Constitution giving 2 and only 2 political parties the power they have- it's "tradition" and a nation of sheeple that allow this farcical facsimile of a Democracy to end up in the condition it's in. It's better than a one-party system, but not nearly as good as a no party system. A 2-party systems allows the extreme sides of the political spectrum to have control, where moderates and centrists who are a far closer approximation to the actual will of the people are pushed aside because they don't follow the party rhetoric. Because there's no middle, there's nowhere to meet and the "Representative government" makes no real progress.
Death is Nature's way of telling you to slow down.

Trump supporters have lies and bullshit as their milieu.Bicycle Bill wrote:Or we can just let him keep talking until he traps himself in his own web of lies and bullshit.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: A New Trump Thread...
Here in VA, the only people I know of who must register to vote with a party affiliation are people who work as poll workers. I had a friend who did that. There were poll workers from both parties, of course.
Re: A New Trump Thread...
I've never been registered as a member of political party and accepted that not voting in the primary goes with it. Calif. has been trying a series of experiments in letting you choose which primary you wish to vote in when you arrive at the polls. I don't think it makes much of a difference and since I've chosen not to belong to a party I continue to choose not to vote in their primaries.

I'd like to send a dozen roses to whoever is behind this:
https://www.rawstory.com/2016/01/anybod ... wl-parade/‘ANYBODY BUT TRUMP’: Mysterious skywriting mocks mogul during Rose Bowl parade
Someone took their mockery of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to great heights — literally — on Friday.
As SB Nation reported, an unidentified party paid for skywriters to put up messages ripping the real estate mogul during the Rose Bowl parade in Pasadena, California.
The messages included taunts like, “Putin eats Trump for breakfast;” “Trump loves to hate;” “America is great. Trump is disgusting,” and “Anybody but Trump, among others.

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

you can t insult your way to the presidency....
...well, maybe you can, but you can t beat trump that way.
every time someone hurls an insult at him, it makes them look petty and void of ideas...
...when trump does it he is seen as, 'sticking it to the man' and, 'speaking truth to power'...., you just can t win, can you ?

If you see Trump as "sticking it to the man" and "speaking truth to power", I have only one thing to ask you.
Do you need to borrow my glasses?

maybe you should get your glasses.
I never said that I (italics) saw it that way...
if that was what I had meant, that is what I would have written.

Yes, I know *YOU* didn't say it — this time.
It's just that you seem to be one of the biggest Trumpanzees around here, and I figured that if you've been drinking the Kool-Aid you were also into the chips-and-dip too.
