A Rather Surprising Endorsement Of Donald Trump

Post by dales »

Former President Jimmy Carter said Wednesday that if he had to choose, he'd pick Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over rival Ted Cruz, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

At a lecture in Britain's House of Lords on Wednesday, Carter was asked to give his “assessment” of American politics.

After talking about his own victory in the 1976 Democratic presidential caucuses, he went on to say that Trump would be a better option than Cruz.

If he had to choose between them, “I think I would choose Trump, which may surprise some of you,” he said.

“The reason is, Trump has proven already he’s completely malleable,” Carter said. “I don’t think he has any fixed (positions) he’d go the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right-wing policies he’d pursue if he became president.”

Carter added that he had a “feeling” that Trump's chances for the presidency would “fade away.”

“When people actually get ready to put on a ballot, ‘This is the person I want to lead me for the next four or eight years, I think they’ll have a little different opinion,’” Carter said.

Ultimately, he said he will support whoever is the Democratic nominee, noting he thinks Hillary Clinton “will still prevail” despite rival Bernie Sanders’s “remarkable showing, particularly among young people.”

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

NOT QUITE AN ENDORSEMENT

Sounds more like damning with faint praise.

Carter may be old but he ain't senile.

Have rabbits been known to savage people? I thought they were herbivores.

JIMMY vs. ATTACK RABBIT

Post by RayThom »

Proof positive:

That's Carter on the left (in boat) and the stealth bunny stalking its prey to the right (see arrow.)

The CIA later determined the actor was a radicalized, Islamist rabbit trained by Iranian government officials in retaliation for the botched Operation Eagle Claw. Fortunately, only two Secret Service agents were injured during the attack.

God bless America.

I'm a victim of middle aged brain decline - and it's certainly been too long since I watched MP's Holy Grail.

I am beginning to think that some Monty Python should be required viewing on a weekly basis. For everyone.
