At one time, back in the late '60s, I used to be a DJ and even I didn't play as much meaningless garbage in a night as what wesw posts here.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

He's just too "deep" for the rest of us hateful bigots to comprehend.

Speaking of, Bill Maher nails it, as usual:

Maher is generally right. The main reasons for Trump's success are: (1) all the free media he received, (2) focusing on a few issues with populist-simplistic answers, (3) general voter unhappiness with the status quo, and (4) the diffuse number of candidates early on. The anti-PC approach feeds his success only to the extent it drives free media or manipulates voter unhappiness.

No. And this is public knowledge by now. Trump is successful because he went out and did research on which messages got the biggest response from GOP voters and found that bigotry, xenophobia, religious intolerance, and boorish nationalism got the biggest reactions and he crafted messages to appeal to that group. He then adopted well-worn GOP slogans about how ignoramus 'outsiders' were always smarter and better than people who actually know how government works which those same voters had been conditioned to accept by long repetition.

The GOP have, dishonestly, been cranking the "politicians are all liars and crooks (except us)" hurdy-gurdy for so long that they never thought it could be used against them.
