he would benefit from having a career military type as a deputy.
I would trust mitt to "git 'er done" at the VA.
he may be too proud to take less than SecState, but stranger things have happened.....

I think Romney would do best as head of the Department of Inferior.

I had such respect for him, taking the stand he did on Trump, early and LOUD.
I'm torn between not wanting him to be in bed with that freak, and realizing he would be a voice of reason in an administration that is fast shaping into a fascist regime.

Re: mitt romney....
I personally at this point would be very happy to see Romney in as SOS...
It seems critical to me for the best interests of the country, that there be some reasoned voices involved in shaping policy at the highest level of government (Trump sure as hell ain't gonna get that perspective from Gen. Flynn)
At the very least Romney has no illusions about Vladimir Putin, nor would he be involved in blowing up our alliances...
It would be a smart pick for Trump to make...a choice that would make him look less thin skinned and insecure, and also be reassuring to our allies...
(I see that for some reason, Kellyanne Conway has gone public trying to stop it from happening, which is a very strange thing for a person of her experience and position to be doing...)

Re: mitt romney....
http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-ke ... ts-2016-11Trump reportedly 'furious' Kellyanne Conway went rogue and publicly bashed Romney
President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly furious over comments his former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway has made about Mitt Romney, who is under consideration for the secretary of state post in his Cabinet.
Conway suggested Sunday that Trump supporters felt "betrayed" by the consideration of Romney for the post. Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and 2012 Republican presidential nominee, had been one of the most vocal critics of Trump during the 2016 election.
Two high-level sources on Trump's transition team told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that the president-elect was "furious" that Conway went rogue at Trump's expense "at the worst possible time." Aides are reportedly "baffled" by Conway's comments and concerned that "instead of driving Trump's message," Conway is "pushing her own agenda," according to the report, which was laid out on air by hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
One top aide described Conway's behavior as "dangerous."
Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, the incoming chief of staff in Trump's administration, is also reportedly frustrated with Conway.
Conway responded to the MSNBC report by calling it "sexist" [You can call Mika Brezinski a lot of things, "sexist" ain't one of them]and saying she could have any job she wanted in a Trump administration.
Conway continued her public attacks on Romney over the weekend, telling CNN on Sunday that while she hoped Romney would be a gracious secretary of state if selected, his aggressive criticism of Trump during the primaries did not sit well with the president-elect's supporters.
"It's just breathtaking in scope and intensity the type of messages I have received from all over the country," Conway said. "The number of people who feel betrayed to think that Governor Romney would get the most prominent Cabinet post, after he went so far out of his way to hurt Donald Trump — there was the Never Trump movement, and then there was Mitt Romney."
She added: "If President-elect Trump chooses Mitt Romney as his secretary of state, or whomever he chooses, that will have the full support and backing of all of us. I respect the brilliance and judgment and sheer instincts of President-elect Trump to form his Cabinet as he wishes. But I felt compelled to come forward on behalf of the people who were weighing in."
Romney is reportedly Trump's top pick for secretary of state, but the infighting over Romney's potential appointment has reached a boiling point inside Trump's camp. Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani of New York is also under consideration, as are former CIA Director David Petraeus and Sen. Bob Corker.
As I said, this is very strange behavior coming from Kellyanne...
It's as if David Axelrod had gone on national television after the 2008 election saying that many Obama supporters felt "betrayed" by his consideration of Hillary Clinton to be SOS...
Just a week ago, she was chiding Giuliani for the same sort of public lobbying...
She of all people has to know that if she wants to influence Donald Trump, this is the worst possible way to do it...No one has shown more discipline in public "messaging" than Conway...
(It almost makes me think she's really trying to get him to pick Romney...)
There have been some reports that she's not been involved in the top level decision-making meetings lately, so maybe this was an act of anger, or maybe she's just got some sort of deep personal animosity towards Romney for some reason...
The explanation I absolutely ain't buyin' is the one she's giving...
That she decided to do this to make herself the spokesperson for the hardcore Trumpanzees...

Mitt Romney...
My feeling on Kellyanne Conway's "rogue outburst" is that she's looking to get fired. A book deal, exposure on the TV talk show circuit, and campaign managing future candidates, would be way more financially rewarding than being stuck with Pence and his no nothing group of posers.
In many ways Conway is the sharpest tool in the shed. She needs to part ways before she gets assimilated.

I think that Conway is right on, and that that trump agrees with everything she said....
...and bannon said that he was furious just to screw with the press.

Re: mitt romney....
All this intrigue in the Trump organization--do you honestly believe that?
Re: mitt romney....
How can you speculate about someone who is generally so thoughtless and undisciplined?
If I were to guess, I'd say it is the head Trumpanzee playing with Mittens, ultimately wanting to humiliate him (or at least make him beg). But I'm not putting money on it, either way.

Re: mitt romney....
as likely as any other theory that I ve heard.
perhaps she was just being honest.
oh the horror!!!!
I , for one , appreciate a forthright and honest answer, without regard to politics or repercussions.
kellyanne could be as effective at sec state as either of the current candidates , I think.
all she needs is a few top rate deputies who know state dept inside out.
and really, RR, I do believe that I understand the trump revolution as well as anyone here.

Re: mitt romney....
I speculate that mitt will be offered VA, and will turn it down.
trump will let him bury himself, or let him sacrifice his ego for the good of the nation. win-win for everyone.
