Open Letter to Ronna McDaniel (Republican Party chairwoman)

Post by Bicycle Bill »

Dear Ms. McDaniel:
At present, we have a person sitting in the Oval Office of the White House who purports to be a Republican.  It is a matter of record that the majority of members in Congress are Republican, 33 of the 50 states have governors who identify as Republican, and many of the various state legislatures are also dominated by members of the GOP.

At this time, however, may I show you something to remind you of just what the Republican party was like back in the days of your parents?  I realize that you were born during the 1970s and have no idea of what life was like prior to Ronald Reagan, but try to understand that this is the way Republicans were when your uncle Millard (Mitt Romney) was being raised.

I now ask you to look at the path this country has taken in the past few years with regards to labor and the working man/middle class alone while under the influence of a Republican-controlled Congress and various state legislatures, and continues to take under less than three weeks of a Republican-led administration.

Please tell me, what happened over the past fifty years or so to make the current GOP move in such a diametrically opposite direction?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
