Clarke resigned

Post by ex-khobar Andy »

Clarke has resigned as sheriff of Milwaukee.

Obviously not enough bling in this world which will now seem a less cheerful place.

Is this a prelude to his taking over at Homeland Security for Kelly? It would seem to be in keeping with some other Trumpian monstrosities.

Maybe the plan is to send him to N Korea to negotiate with the Generals there.

He'd fit right in.

I LOVE those NK uniforms. The hats are so big they make their heads look tiny like Donnie's hands.

And don't get me started on the sleeves and shoulder pads.

Clarke Resigned... Or Did He?

Post by RayThom »

Without a visible stake through his heart Clarke is going to be undead for a long time.

This guy loves every refrigerator magnet he sees.

I seemed to recall that this buffoon had made a fool out of himself a few months ago, publicly claiming that he had accepted a job with DHS that hadn't been offered to him...

I looked it up; it was last May, here's the story:
Milwaukee County Sheriff Clarke says he's accepted DHS job -- but was it offered?

Washington (CNN)Controversial Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said Tuesday he has accepted a position within the Trump administration to serve as an assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security.

One problem: The department won't say the job was offered.

Speaking on WISN radio, Clarke said he was "honored and humbled" to receive the appointment to the "office of partnership and programs," where he will work with the private sector and state and local government officials, "and one that's really near and dear to me, liaison with state, local and tribal law enforcement," he said.

The Trump administration, however, won't confirm Clarke's appointment.

Asked about Clarke's announcement, an administration official told the CNN "The position in question is a secretarial position and is therefore a question for DHS."

A DHS spokeswoman Wednesday declined to confirm Clarke's new job. The agency's website lists an Office of Partnership and Engagement that coordinates "outreach efforts with critical stakeholders nationwide."

In an emailed statement, DHS spokeswoman Jenny Burke said, "The position mentioned is a Secretarial appointment. Such senior positions are announced by the Department when made official by the Secretary. No such announcement with regard to the Office of Public Engagement has been made."

CNN has reached out to Clarke for additional comment.

Yes, the man is clearly bonkers with delusions of adequacy. He should fit right in.

Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is expected to take a job in the Trump administration after resigning Thursday, a report says.

The tough-talking conservative will likely be serving in the White House, in a role that won’t require confirmation from the Senate, according to Politico.

Sources told the outlet that this is because his nomination would surely face opposition from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

Clarke, known for his cowboy hat and no-holds-barred attitude, has been an outspoken social media user and avid supporter of President Trump.

Well, that article is certainly correct in pointing out that a job requiring senate confirmation ain't on the cards for the erstwhile sheriff...

At this point, even with a GOP majority, this clown probably couldn't get confirmed as a Deputy Assistant Under Secretary For Mailroom Supervision...

But as for him going to work at the White House, I'll believe it when I see it...

If Kelly wouldn't hire him to work at DHS, I have a hard time believing that he would accept him on the White House staff...

Especially when Kelly has been all about getting rid of the "colorful gadflys" not bringing more in...

Trump already did Clarke a big financial solid when he plugged his book to the 17 million or so Trumpanzee faithful last week on Twitter...

That was probably good for at least 100,000 copy bump in book sales, maybe more...

Maybe that was Trump's way of paying him off for his support (and keeping him from trash talking The Donald) without having to give him a job...

I suspect if anything, Clarke will just get a seat on some meaningless advisory panel...
