Il Douche (stealing that one from Joe) took time out from using the commemoration of our war dead to sell his vanity gear to pat himself on the back and tell us how "happy" they would be about the great job he's doing:

President Trump used the day when America pauses to remember its war dead to tout his administration’s domestic achievements, saying those who died would be “happy” at “how well” the country has done under his watch.

“Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today​,” he wrote on Twitter. “Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!​”​

Trump has often boasted about the low unemployment rate for blacks, and at 6.6 percent it’s the lowest in decades, but the rate has been on a steady decline since hitting a peak of 16.8 percent in March 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The 4.8 percent unemployment rate for Hispanics is also the lowest it’s been since 2006 and has been declining steadily since July 2012, government data show.

In fairness, that opening scene of Saving Private Ryan is one of the most gut-wrenching depictions of war in all of film and it certainly has the power to move people to understand the sacrifices of military men in combat probably a great deal more so than black & white photos of corpses.

Ah yes, true dat - love the movie (and the fish were a great touch). It seems to me that photos of real dead people have more relevance to the day than do photos of actors and dummies. They died in living color.
