Great Intro....
Great Intro....
The first 24 seconds of this intro from "Who is America" on Showtime should be required viewing for everybody....
Re: Great Intro....
Is that the show with the Borat guy who has been spoofing everyone?
The juxtaposition in that intro is painful to see; this country seems to be headed down the shitter in a big way.

And a stable genius at that.
Yes... that Borat.
Yes... that Borat.

I take heart, BSG, in Sturgeon's Law: "Ninety percent of Science Fiction is shit." Later became accepted a a valid 'law' when expanded into 90% of everything. I feel certain such noble and crass contrasts could be created from any comparison of the selected past and a specific time period in American history. Compare the sentiments for individual freedom during the early days of the USA with the Alien and Sedition Acts of President Adams. Or the weird group insanity of the 50's when we were sure (confirmed by at least one article in Reader's Digest every month) that evil communism was simultaneously an impossible and self-destructively inefficient way to run a country and yet was gonna kill us all and run the world.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Go away...come back later, maybe in a few years... (The intro was OK, though.)

But then I've never been a fan of what's sometimes been called "cringe comedy"...going all the way back to I Love Lucy and other shows of that ilk.
