Hey, Sue, let me fill in for the judge on this one. Even though my only legal background is watching old Perry Mason re-runs, I'll betcha even I would get this one right!
That way we'll keep the real judges clear for important things.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Yep. She, and everyone else has a right to free speech. She can say anything she wants. She has no right to force other private parties to repeat or publish what she wants to say. She has every right to start her own on-line social media and accept or 'lock-out' anyone.

In my view, this the most critical Presidential election since the election of 1860...
With the top office in the land in the grasping hands of a Constitution trampling, rule of law shredding would be dictator leading a criminal enterprise operating under the guise of a Presidential Administration, the stakes are unimaginably high. Our very existence as a democratic republic may well be lost if somehow this corrupt, lawless would-be oligarch manages to gain re-election (despite yet another massive popular vote defeat.)
It is imperative that all patriotic Americans, across the political spectrum, regardless of policy or ideological differences, rise and stand as one to cast out this existential threat to our Constitutional Republic...
That is the challenge that history demands that this generation of Americans rise to. For the sake of the generations to come, we must not fail to meet it.

I am in complete agreement. But a genuine question, LJ: I reckon that in normal times you and I would not agree on much, politically - so how is it that this is so obvious to you (the "grasping hands of a Constitution trampling, rule of law shredding would be dictator leading a criminal enterprise" bit) but the majority of the Republicans (north of 90% by some accounts) simply cannot see it?
I've had some good R friends over the years - far fewer now that I have retired - and I have no idea how they now think. I like to think that they are decent folk who think about stuff and who sometimes (IMO) arrive at the wrong conclusions. I think that they would be horrified by Trump but the statistics are against it.
I don't believe, for example, that the Republican mind-set is irretrievably self-focused and to hell with everyone else nor that Democrats (and Labour Party supporters) have a lock on compassion and empathy. It would be nice if everyone wore black hats and white hats so we knew whom to put up against the wall disinvite from the kid's birthday party.

Think of Trump as Uncle Ernie, ex-kA. Life and soul of the family Christmas, volunteering to look after young Tommy - so good! A bit eccentric but then who isn't?

Ah, yes — the Bến Tre policy.wesw wrote:y0u understand that the 0ld man must be destroyed in 0rder f0r the new man t0 be reb0rn....

Bến Tre is a city in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, made famous by the statement of an unnamed US Army officer to AP correspondent Peter Arnett in the aftermath of the crippling aerial assault it suffered at the hands of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War: "It became necessary to destroy the town to save it." The quote still stands as a classic statement of the folly of war and as a monument to the depths to which human idiocy can sink when we are blinded by our belief that we are in the right and the other side is in the wrong.
