Yeah, the Dems need to lay off "broadband for everybody" and support infrastructure projects that truly benefit all of society.
Right...just like that notorious boondoggle during the Roosevelt administration, the Rural Electrification Act. "Electricity for everybody"? Who needs it?
Exactly. In the remote learning mode in effect in many states, there are many many kids who aren’t having the same learning experience because they cannot easily access wifi. Even in the relatively affluent communities here in Eastern Mass, schools are deploying hotspots so all kids can have equal access to learning and materials.

Why are you against access to information and learning, Meade?

As for infrastructure plans - does no one remember that the Trumpanzee has been promising that since he as elected. “Infrastructure week” has yet to occur.....

Total bullshit OLD FUCKING MAN talk, saying folks today don’t know how to work hard. Folks until a few weeks ago were working harder, at more jobs per person, for less income, than folks have in many decades. Seriously, you both owe an apology to the hard working workers of America for those ignorant statements.

And on THIS day of all! Seriously, fuck off to both of you again.
@realDonaldTrump, your mouth is the foulest shithole in the world! ~ Vicente Fox Quesada
Irony much?
Vicente Fox wasn’t talking about Trump’s propensity to swear - he was talking about Trump’s propensity to denigrate entire classes of people as lesser human beings.

So yeah, your post is fucking ironic - because you know that and you swear a blue streak and you obviously think it’s okay to denigrate the fuck out of working stiffs or you wouldn’t be defending the two posters who did by making lame attacks on me.

Hmmm, remote learning.... I hadn't thought of that angle. Image
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

And its not just remote learning - although thats low hanging fruit (and something colleges and grad schools have been deploying since well before COVID - and in that context can make further education more accessible and less expensive, but that’s a different topic). Access to the internet isn’t just porn and planB, besides education, it provides access local, state, and federal government, to goods and services many people cannot access in their communities, access to banking/loans/funding, connections with family and friends, access to healthcare, and more. I don’t understand why anyone thinks its a partisan issue or why it could be a bad thing.

I defended nobody, I just pointed out the irony.

Have you checked the starting wage at Walmart lately? Locally the advertised new hire rate is from $10 to $15.
I have seen these ads where they are offering better starting wages than ever, but remember — I'm 65, I'm starting to have leg problems thanks to eight years of print shop/warehouse work, standing 8+ hours a day on a concrete floor, and if I'm going to work it's going to be full-time and with a regular schedule rather, and I like to think that a job that pays $14 an hour where I get to sit down and use my brain instead of my back is better than working at WalMart putting cheap Chinese shit on shelves or pushing carts at people when they walk in the door.  I'm satisfied where I am, and the only other application I intend to fill out in my life is going to be when I apply for my Social Security payments.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

I'd probably do the same thing if I was in your shoes. For some who saw their minimum wage non-essential job evaporate, Walmart was a life saver.
Thank you RBG wherever you are!
