Today i was repeatedly subjected to a teary Julia Gillard adressing the US Congress and getting standing ovations for her words. was the reason she was cfying so much because she plagerised Bono's address from 5 years ago when she reminised that after the moon landing she knew Americans could do anything?
I'D cry if I were you too Julia.
POOR form. VERY poor form.
The Aussie ranga PM ripped off Bono?

Really? Surely it is better to plagerise someone who isn't so self righteous? Even Jesus wasn't that self righteous. Shame on her.The Hen wrote:she plagerised Bono's address from 5 years ago

Re: The Aussie ranga PM ripped off Bono?
Any similarity between Julia Gillard's well-received speech to the US congress and a monologue by U2 singer Bono at a concert is a "complete coincidence", according to the PM's people. Ms Gillard received eight standing ovations during her historic address, in which she reiterated the strength of the bond between the US and Australia.
But some sceptics claimed Ms Gillard's rousing script parroted sentiments made by the U2 frontman at a concert six years ago. In Ms Gillard's speech to a joint session of the US Congress, she spoke about her memory of the moon landing in 1969 and the impression it made on her as a young girl. "I'll always remember thinking that day — Americans can do anything," she said. "I firmly believe you are the same people who amazed me when I was a small girl by landing on the moon. "On that great day I believed Americans could do anything — I believe that still."
But conservative Herald Sun commentator Andrew Bolt pointed out how closely these words echoed Bono's monologue at a Chicago concert in 2005. "When I was a boy, my first impression of America, was a man walking on the moon," the rock singer said during the intro to the Irish band's classic hit "One". "I thought, I thought these Americans are mad, they are mad. "But I thought what can this country do, what can these people do when they put their mind to it, it's incredible."
Ms Gillard met Bono in November last year at Kirribilli House and a spokeswoman for the PM has previously told the The Daily Telegraph she "definitely likes the band".
When asked by ninemsn if the speech was written with Bono's comments in mind, a spokesman for the PM said: "No, there's no relation. It's a complete coincidence".
The spokesman added: "It's a fair bet the moon landing was a significant moment for many people born around 1960".

If she really wanted to do an impression of that sanctimonious pillock, Bongo, she should have had her best hat flown over first class.

Excellent. Another world leader taken in by our moon landing hoax!

An excerpt from Dullard's address:
I don't see what all the fuss is about really...I'm very pleased to be here in Washington on this Beautiful Day. I value the special relationship between Australia and the USA because Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own. It truly is The Sweetest Thing. Yet our American friends often move in Mysterious Ways and make no mistake: I Will Follow! In fact All I Want is You.
Standing here, In God's Country, Where the Streets Have no Name, I am reminded that I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. I thought I'd found it on New Year's Day (which out of interest falls on a Sunday (Bloody Sunday... means that the weekend's nearly over...) next year) but I was mistaken. I'm sure that you all know what it's like to be Stuck in a Moment You can't Get Out Of...
But enough of my twaddle. I'm happy living in 'Gillard World' which I'm sure you'll agree is Even better Than the Real Thing. As long as I've got my Pride and my Desire I don't need votes! With or Without You I will carry on because ask yourselves this: Who's Going to Ride Your Wild Horses When Love Comes to Town with the Angel of Harlem and Gloria? Huh? Answer that One!
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Speaking for the general population of the USA, we barely know she is here. The big thing in the paper (at least here on LI and in NY) is the Peter King (R-Seaford) Muslim Hearing.
