Tucker Carlson: The dog ate my homework

Post by Scooter »

Fox News's Tucker Carlson mocked for 'lost in mail' Biden documents claim

The Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been mocked for his attempt to explain why he could not produce documents he had promised relating to Joe Biden, implying some kind of conspiracy.

On Thursday United Parcel Service (UPS) confirmed that it had indeed lost, and then found, the package in question.

Carlson said the only copy of the papers, which he alleged added to claims about Biden’s son Hunter, had been lost. In a segment delivered to camera, Carlson said:
On Monday we received from a source a collection of confidential documents related to the Biden family. We believe those documents are authentic, they’re real, and they’re damning … We texted a producer in New York and we asked him to send those documents to us in LA … He shipped those documents overnight to California with a large national carrier brand … But the Biden documents never arrived in Los Angeles. Tuesday morning we received word from the shipping company that our package had been opened and the contents were missing. The documents had disappeared.
He went on to say of the delivery company, which he did not name:

They searched the plane and the trucks that carried it, they went through the office in New York where our producer dropped that package off, they combed their entire cavernous sorting facility. They used pictures of what we had sent so that searchers would know what to look for. They went far and beyond. But they found nothing, those documents have vanished. As of tonight, the company has no idea – and no working theory even – about what happened to this trove of materials, documents that are directly relevant to the presidential campaign.

UPS subsequently issued a statement confirming some of the details. It told the Daily Beast: “After an extensive search, we have found the contents of the package and are arranging for its return. (Note: UPS does not confirm that the "contents" were documents, so we still have nothing but Carlson's word that these alleged documents exist.) UPS will always focus first on our customers, and will never stop working to solve issues and make things right.”

Glenn Zaccara, UPS’s corporate media relations director, confirmed to Business Insider that “the package was reported with missing contents as it moved within our network. UPS is conducting an urgent investigation into this matter and regrets that the package was damaged. The integrity of our network and the security of our customers’ goods are of utmost importance. We will remain in frequent, direct contact with Fox News as we learn more through our investigation.”

It remains to be seen what the documents will contain. Carlson’s show has been one of the main conduits of conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden, attempting to expand the narrative about his dealings in Ukraine and China and castigating other media outlets for not paying enough attention to claims made recently in the New York Post.

Carlson’s story of the lost documents cut little ice on social media on Wednesday night, before the package carrier’s statement:
There should be nothing stopping Carlson from releasing these alleged documents, now that they have supposedly been found, right?

Or perhaps the damaged package contained sex toys or sensual lubricants for all the lonely nights Carlson spends by himself.

Those must be some special kind of deep state documents discovered by an undercover republican spy. They had to have been created in a special way that made them impossible to copy and email.

And the sender of those incredibly important "documents" didn't make a copy? Scan and save them on a computer or in the cloud? Come on...

I have a problem deciphering the message quoted at the head of this thread: pronoun antecedents.

1.On Monday we received. . .
2.We texted a producer in New York to send them to us in California

How did these very important documents get from #1 We who received them to the Producer in New York? #1we seems to be the same as #2us

PS, I am a regular customer of the "blind computer repairman" in the NY Post Hunter Biden story. Yes, He is so good that had I the money I would make a special trip from California to fix my Apple machine. I also have been sitting at his counter when he has told a customer over the phone--you got it wet, OK if you insist I will look at it for $80 but i probably can't do anything with it. $80 dollars is his fee for almost anything unless you want personal training. Apple people regularly come to him for things they cannot fix. I was first referred to him by the local Apple store back when the store had real experts there in person. Now they just send you the the Apple technical assist phone line. With the Covid lockdown and the bad publicity the Hunter affair has brought to him I am reluctant to just flat ask him about it. Last time I was there was after my wife died. I did not have her password for her Apple notebook. I asked him to break it and download all her emails, recipe folder, and photos. He did it, put them all on a thumb drive, handed me the memory stick and charged me $80. There was nothing the least bit embarrassing in the email. I had her notebook with all her password info from the last 12 years but I could not find the right one. My password records are in a similar state. She said she would identify the current passwords, and I know I should do that for mine, but we had more important things to do in her last days.

There was a copy made and the carrier located the originals. All is well ... for some but DEFINITELY NOT for others.
Thank you RBG wherever you are!
