For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Sue, I thought it was somewhat funny, but then I doubt I am the student of US history that you are. If I recall, Clinton was Jefferson's second VP (after Burr); did the rules change from making the second place candidate VP by that time?

Not so much a student of US history, just an interest in Jefferson and Madison, really, but yes, Clinton was Jefferson's veep and was also Madison's (for his first term). Clinton had ambitions and significant support for the presidency but Madison outmaneuvered him for the nomination of the Democratic-Republicans.
But the George Clinton joke I was going for was:

Sue--from what I have read, Clinton also had a lot of enemies, and many senators openly attacked and hated him, which is what I thought the joke referred to. I forgot about the more recent George Clinton.

I like chopped liver. I thought perhaps "Swiss cheese" but that seemed a bit ethnic.

So sorry, Meade! I've been "at" a conference the last three days and between presenting and attending seminars I haven't really been paying attention to Plan B. Also, didn't recognize the lyric.MajGenl.Meade wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 2:01 pmI like chopped liver. I am one of those people who like chopped liver, tho. (On rye with a slice of sweet onion is my go-to when we get lunch at the deli.)
GAH!
