Anybody know about Rachael Maddow's camera quirk?

I have been watching the Rachael Maddow show on MSNBC regularly as the last thing before I go to bed.

I have noticed what seems to me to be a strange fixation about camera view-point. It is a cliche about characters who always want the camera to show 'my best side'

What is it about Rachael's left ear? She always has her head pointed slightly to the side, never straight-on to the camera. Her left ear never shows.

Inquiring people want to know.

Why would this topic be under "Politics" instead of "General Stuff & Tabloids"?  If someone's idiosyncrasies about how they let themselves be photographed isn't tabloid fodder, I don't know what is.

Or is it because she's liberal-leaning, queer AF, and comments on political matters?  If THAT'S the reason, BP, that's one helluva tenuous connection.

I went to Google, entered Rachel Maddow, and asked for images.

I looked at the first 10 rows of images:

Left ear 15

Right ear 20

Neither ear 5 (badly lit, too distant)

Both ears 14

I have not run a significance test but it looks pretty convincing to me: nothing there.

I suspect that the third pic above is in response to someone's question similar to mine. Mine was generated by watching for about two weeks.
I put it in politics because I thought people who watched this tv presentation would probably not be interested in tabloids. It seems to be done with one camera. I am guessing the camera is not centered and the teleprompter is located on it.

She had a skin cancer surgery on the left side of her neck in the past year or so. They are maybe de-emphasizing it?
