Not mad at anybody. But I have decided that my own health needs a break from the internet. I am gonna try to stay away from all that stuff for the next 30 days maybe till after the election is all over. No problems exactly, but I just need a break. I will be back. So good luck liberty; I am sure you will do better without my snarky guidance.

You're probably not reading this: but you're not wrong. I know I spend far more time on the internet than is good for me and I should be cutting the grass or mudding that ceiling that needs patching and painting or finally finishing those shelves that are halfway done. Dealing with the internet and - especially - the comments sections is a constant reminder of how fucked up the world is: and even if Trump / Vance don't make it into office this time, they have written the scrip and worse awaits. For all its faults, and there are many, the US has led the way and stumbled often - and maybe the person who will eventually destroy this idea of 'of by and for the people' is now a 14-year-old neighbor kid.

Kristofferson got it wrong. Freedom is another word for 'there is a great deal that can be lost" but that just doesn't scan nicely.
