Gaetz withdraws as Trump's pick for attorney general
Someone was clearly not prepared to hear testimony girls with whom he had sex raped when they were underage, and be pounded with questions about it.
The question is now will he return to the House in January? That would reopen the whole question of having the Ethics Committee report on his dalliances being released.

I just saw this posted on a Facebook page for a Maine newspaper I follow; I did some Googling and there are other sources which mention the story. Curious, anyway.

And according to NYT:
And also speculation in NYT:
How I first heard this term: apparently a watch company wanted to make an ad for their product, and they hired a director. This director was famous for arty-farty ads and he duly gave them a story board for how he wanted the ad to go. The company was uneasy and wanted a straightforward ad about how well it kept time and so on. So the director made the ad the way he wanted - swirly music and sunshine and dancing girls and all the rest; but the model wearing the watch had a very hirsute arm. The company OK'd the ad but "Get rid of the hairy arm!" So the director remade the ad but without the hairy arm.
Leaving aside 'withdrawing' jokes, does Susan Collins have a brain cell left?Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, said in a statement that Gaetz “has put country first” by withdrawing, adding that it was “the best decision that Mr. Gaetz could have made.”
And also speculation in NYT:
A chilling thought but not beyond Trump's natural skills. It's a technique called the 'hairy arm.'The controversy surrounding Gaetz has already served a purpose for Trump — whether intended or not. It has made other Trump choices for cabinet picks appear more reasonable by comparison.

That is the sort of thing that would have been come up in a FBI vetting, which is I guess the reason why the incoming administration has chosen to forego them.BoSoxGal wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:05 pmI just saw this posted on a Facebook page for a Maine newspaper I follow; I did some Googling and there are other sources which mention the story.
