This should be amusing.
And of course Alito - who voted against the sentencing - took a call yesterday from Trump who was down in the weeds personally following up a reference for a lowly Administration position -William Levi.
Levi clerked for Alito 2011-2012 (Sidley.com, his current employer). So Trump personally gets on the phone to take up references from 12 years ago for a junior position in his Administration. You have to admire the man's thoroughness.
It may be that he learned his lesson by failing to take up references personally for his initial nomination for AG, and that he is atoning for that error. (Gaetz-gate.)
Or maybe it's just all BS. Who can tell?

Orange oligarch's public statement on the SCOTUS decision suggests his pal Alito reminded him that you can't use your SCOTUS to reshape the country if you don't give them respect when the gently tap your diapered bottom now and then, just for looks. (After all, no possibility of prison time.)
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
