Not to mention all the countries where we installed strongmen friendly to us business interests, like a lot of South America and South Vietnam and South Korea.Our only “colony” was the Pilipines which we only held for 48 years and released w/o violence.
Maybe not colonies in the sense that other countries you mentioned have held colonies, but pretty much the same. The US has continually sought to force other countries to be friendly to its business interests, and have assured the governments in those countries will protected or removed by US force based on how they accept this dictate.
