I could have sworn they told us they were there to round up terrorists, murderers and other violent "worst of the worst" criminals who entered the country without authorization.

The moment has arrived, it is no longer that we are on the road. America is a fascist oligarchy, full stop.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

What happened to the notion that the federal government is supreme in all areas, while the state government is merely its messenger, carrying out its will? If that’s the case, why isn’t the state of California obeying the directives of its superior, remember the supremacy clause, hypocrite.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

Whose "notion" is that? Certainly not mine nor anyone who has actually read the Constitution and understands the principles of federalism. What laws of Los Angeles or of California are in conflict with the Constitution or other preemptive federal law? You are either an idiot or making another lame attempt at trolling, although I'm not ruling out a combination of the two.liberty wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:34 pmWhat happened to the notion that the federal government is supreme in all areas, while the state government is merely its messenger, carrying out its will? My Lord, all of a sudden you are a Federalist, actually embracing what the Constitution says rather than what you want it to say. Strange how that happens. It was either you or Shit Head who said that the federal government makes laws, and the states must obey because of the Supremacy Clause.Sue U wrote: ↑Fri Jun 13, 2025 12:13 amWhose "notion" is that? (Tongue in cheek here) Perhaps it’s time for the president to remove the governor of California and the mayor of Los Angeles for incompetence, given their inability to control riots.

So a lame attempt at trolling, by an idiot.
If I (or Scooter) ever said such a thing as you contend, I'm certain you could cite it and/or copy-paste it here. Somehow I doubt you will.

FWIW, I never recall either of you saying it.

Now, come on, Big R. Try to be objective and set aside your radical, anti-establishment, Communist-leaning youth for a moment. Be honest—are you really telling me you cannot remember either of those two ever expressing the thought that the national government of the United States is supreme over all others?
Also: The Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution empowers the national government to carry out its duties without interference from state governments. However, it does not grant the federal government unlimited authority—it can only exercise powers specifically granted to it by the people through the Constitution. The state of California is violating the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution by interfering with the federal government in carrying out its immigration duties.

Your gratuitous red-baiting aside (thank you Mr Bunker), no I do not, especially when it is maintained that the centralized government is a single person. No one, besides you, thinks the supremacy clause endorses this.Try to be objective and set aside your radical, anti-establishment, Communist-leaning youth for a moment. Oh dear, Susan Collins is concerned again. Surely that means some decisive action on her part.
