I'm Not Much Into Conspiracies... but.....
I just watched this video for the first time (it's from Oct 2024) and I wonder what you think about this...
Re: I'm Not Much Into Conspiracies... but.....
I'm just sick of conspiracy theories when the truth is awful enough.
I don't know if it was shrapnel or an actual bullet that nicked Trump's ear, but all parts of the head are highly vascularized and they do bleed copiously even when the wound isn't terribly serious. There wasn't actually that much blood, Trump just exaggerated as Trump always does. If he hadn't turned his head at exactly the right moment, there would have been a lot more bleeding and bits of brain on the audience. A man died and two others were wounded by gunfire that day, I can't fathom anyone seriously suggesting the whole thing was a hoax. It's an insult to all the victims of gun violence in this country when anybody attempts to minimize the issue for political gain.
Thomas Crooks was mentally ill. Thomas Crooks was regularly visiting the local gun range, and was quite clearly a pretty good shot, especially considering he was shooting under the conditions of having just seen a LEO put his head above the roofline and knowing he was under immediate pursuit by LEOs and likely to lose his own life. As a one time expert marksman myself, I can attest that shooting accurately requires control of posture, breathing, etc. to focus on the operation of the firearm and acquisition of the target.
Trump got very lucky that day and NO, I don't believe it was a conspiracy. The only conspiracy at play is that between too many of our elected officials, the NRA and the firearms industry.

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

The video isn't saying the shooting was a hoax. it is suggesting that Trump's ear injury was caused when he ducked down and bumped into one of the Secret Service people. If that's what happened, it wouldn't surprise me that Trump would hide that fact. I can't imagine him ever admitting that he injured himself while dodging bullets.
Re: I'm Not Much Into Conspiracies... but.....
He grabs his ear before he ducks, duh. So the video maker is clearly insinuating the whole thing is staged.

Trump was just reacting to that "loud whizzing sound".....

I'm not going to argue that the theory offered in the video is correct but I'll admit that I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the bullet didn't touch his ear.

I'm with BSG on this one. I'm not sure it much matters whether Trump's ear scratch was caused by a passing bullet, a bit of shrapnel or a collision with his SS detail. I assume everything he says is a lie anyway unless there is objective proof otherwise. I'm just surprised he's not demanding a Medal of Honor and Purple Heart for his valiant feats and injury sustained in service to his country.
GAH!
Re: I'm Not Much Into Conspiracies... but.....
The reason I consider the cause of his ear injury to be questionable is because, as you wrote, I assume everything he says is a lie anyway unless there is objective proof otherwise.Sue U wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 8:29 pmI'm with BSG on this one. And don't be surprised, Trump still might demand a Medal of Honor and Purple Heart for sacrificing his ear in the line of duty. He will probably do it at the same time he demands a Nobel Peace Prize as payment for all those wars he ended.

He's not looking for one because there's nothing in it for him financially. Unlike the cash award that goes along with a Nobel Peace Prize, there's no money attached to receiving a Purple Heart or a Medal of Honor.Sue U wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 8:29 pmI'm with BSG on this one. But if someone like Pete Hegseth, Trump's lapdog at the DoD, or MTG or any of his other bootlickers in Congress were to wrestle with the red tape necessary for him to get one or both of them, you can bet your bottom dollar that he'd accept them — without a single twinge of conscience or shame.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

He doesn't care about those medals because Barack 'BDE' Obama doesn't have those.Sue U wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 8:29 pmI'm with BSG on this one. Everything he does is an attempt to prove he's better than or at least equal to, even though he has paranoid insecure loser energy and zero class.
