For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

BB, it could aways be a sign of my growing senility, but I seem to remember some of your posts back in Cafe Darte that indicated you loved your bicycle.

I know I loved my Assenmacher. That is why the frame still sits in my living room, awaiting the day when I lovingly rebuild it. It will have click shift, but still have the Brooks saddle on the Campy seat post.

I did love my bicycle.   Like your Assenmacher, Rusty's frame is in storage awaiting the time when I too have the wherewithal to restore her to her former beauty after more than thirty years of use.

But since that fateful day in January 2024 when I replied to a question ("Do you like Longmire?") sent along with a heart icon in response to my profile on eHarmony, I found that what I had for Trusty Rusty was merely a deep affection when compared to the love I feel for my Marie.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Another stage in the cycle of life. From bicycle to love-cycle.

That's heartwarming...

Alas time marches on. After I posted above I went looking for Assenmacher Bicycles and discovered I need not make a pilgrimage to Schwartz Creek Michigan, because Matt sold out to Trek. I knew he was basically turning the business over to his daughter. I wonder if Trek now sell a tandem bike with square tubing frame members? That was a unique product of Matt Assenmacher.

"I've never come this way before", he said, riding along the unfamiliar cobbled street on his old bicycle with no saddle.
