NICK FOLKES doesn't object to people learning a foreign language, or even dabbling in ethnic cooking. But call other cultures equal? That's ''madness'', he says.
''Our culture is better than the Muslim culture, it is better than the African culture,'' he said. ''At the end of the day, why did they come here? There must be something wrong with their culture.
''When it's government policy and using taxpayers' money to further these different communities … I think that is absurd.''
The Australian Protectionist Party firebrand joins a growing number of controversial far-right candidates chasing the xenophobic vote at next month's council elections.
Australia First, the anti-immigration party hoping to fill the political void left by One Nation, is running 23 candidates across western and south Sydney and the Blue Mountains, up from 15 at the last council poll.
The party's website takes aim at the Channel Ten program The Shire and its sprinkling of ethnic characters, labelling it ''media contrived assimilation''. Several candidates attempt to link urban sprawl and rate increases to immigration.
The artist Sergio Redegalli, who painted the controversial ''Say no to burqas'' sign outside his Newtown workshop, is making a first-time bid for Marrickville Council as an independent.
Mr Folkes, 42, an industrial painter from Rozelle, wants Leichhardt council declared a ''sharia-free zone'' and would scrap council grants to multicultural groups.
''There is a vacuum in politics at the moment. We believe that a lot of people, in time, will definitely vote for us,'' he said.

Why Bogans shouldn't be allowed to stand for election

It's cute how he has a "no hate preaching" label on the poster and then proceeds to preach hatred toward Muslims and Africans.

Apparently it has to do with child prostitution and pornography. Because all Muslims are pedophiles, or so Mr. Folkes would have people believe.

I don't know anything about Australian laws or politics, but I do know that the emergence of the "science" of "Sociology" has convinced a lot of people that it is somehow "wrong" to notice that some cultures and some traditions and some religions are better (or worse) than others.
"We" are all convinced that it is "wrong" to be "judgmental," about other cultures, even when there is a mountain of evidence that those cultures have led people straight to perdition.
While it is wrong to condemn a person merely for his association with, say, Islam, it is also STUPID to ignore the fact that 80% of the armed conflict in the world right now, 90% of the terrorism, and most of the blatant and mass suppression of human rights in the world, is undertaken by those who profess this faith - and in most cases, IN THE NAME OF THIS FAITH.
While British language and culture (as found in Australia) has been hugely successful in spreading material wealth, civilization (i.e., peaceful reconciliation of differences), education, health, and all forms of culture (music, literature, art, etc).
But we are supposed to pretend that Islamic culture and British culture are "equal." Neither one is "better" than the other.
Right. Self-evident.

Of course the British spread their culture, usually at the point of a sword, by taking over large chunks of the planet.
And it's one thing to say that a culture could improve itself and quite another to accuse all members of that culture of being slavering monsters who should be feared.
