Britain to cut aid spending on China and Russia
Britain will stop paying aid money to China and Russia in a sweeping overhaul of the country's overseas development work
Andrew Mitchell, the International Development Secretary, said on Wednesday it was no longer justified to offer money to the two major nations, and that aid would cease as soon as "practical and responsible".
Figures for 2008-2009 show Britain gave China £40.2 million, mainly for health and education projects. Russia received £1.8 million, used in part for civil society work.
Britain has pledged to increase its yearly aid budget from the current total of £2.9 billion pounds.

It has been fairly recently that the US stopped sending aid to China. I think considering the help we have sent to them over the years they should subtract that amount plus interest from our debt they now own.
