At a time when the Communist looked assured to win
I take it from that that you were in the military during the Carter Administration....

Well lib, you've got some pretty quirky ideas, but I thank you for your service.

I'm sure the Russians were cowed by the gleam of the toilets you scrubbed. Well done.

As an Airman I did that and floors too, got good at it. It was an additional duty that all enlisted personal below senior NCOs were required to do on a recurring schedule. Airmen did the work and NCOs supervised. If anything could terrify it would have been the reflection of my floors, it made some of the females uncomfortable.

As an NCO and supervisor I worked with the troops assigned to my additional duty team. I was trying to demonstrate through my actions that they should not feel demeaned by the work being that I was an NCO and did not have to do the work but did it anyway. I always tried to inspire my troops and it may have contributed to me being a popular NCO. We had NCO that were not popular they usually tried to lead through fear instead of example.

I have heard that the troops don’t do additional duties anymore.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.
