I missed this one.

Yeah that mooching capitalist helped pay for those roads through petrol taxes and registration fees for his trucks, and pays school taxes in his district to educate those future workers (and employs todays workers who now earn a paycheck and pay taxes rather than live on the public dole) and pays property taxes which pay for the PD and FD (or there is a seperate line item for those services).
Me thinks Miss Warren has forgotten all those taxes that people and businesses pay into the local, regional, state and federal systems so that society can function without much chaos.

"sir, I see that you are wearing a trump shirt, may I ask you a few questions"?
"uh..., sure...."
"sir, is it true that you would still support trump if he "shot someone on 5th ave." ?
"well...., it would depend on who he shot....."
"uh..., ok...., thank you... "
"what, no more questions? "

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
oldr--that's the point, he doesn't pay for the roads himself, we all pay for them through vehicle registration fees, gas and oil taxes, as well as income and property taxes. ditto for property taxes for schools and local services, which are paid by all, not just those reaping a bigger benefit of an educated workforce. the point is that we all have invested in the system which helps him to generate a profit, and assessing taxes on his gains for that benefit is only fair. No one is a self made man (or woman), they all build on what is provided by society.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
On the contrary, that's the whole point of the quote: as Big RR points out, whatever societal benefits an individual business owner gets were not paid for by him alone but *ALSO* by many other taxpayers, past and present.oldr_n_wsr wrote:Yeah that mooching capitalist helped pay for those roads through petrol taxes and registration fees for his trucks, and pays school taxes in his district to educate those future workers [just as the taxpayers of the past paid to educate today's workers] (and employs todays workers who now earn a paycheck and pay taxes [which also go towards toward things he benefits from] rather than live on the public dole) and pays property taxes which [help, along with other people's taxes] pay for the PD and FD (or there is a seperate line item for those services).

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

To the contrary, the quote specifies more than once that "the rest of us" paid all those taxes. It specifically excludes the business owner from having contributed in any way to the taxes collected. Agenda much?

Those "storm is coming" assholes are a danger to this country and themselves. They preach revolution while both overestimating the problems we have facing us and underestimating the realities of revolution. They're the Trumpanzies of the left.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
No, the point of the quote is to justify why the business owner should have to pay taxes on his profits--hence it mentions that others paid for these services so it is only fair, and part of the social contract, for the business owner to take a "hunk of the profits [i.e. taxes] and pay it forward...".MajGenl.Meade wrote:To the contrary, the quote specifies more than once that "the rest of us" paid all those taxes. Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I understand Big RR what point the quote should be making. The point though is that it doesn't. Instead it pretends that business owners don't pay taxes at all - it specifically and deliberately says that taxes are paid by "the rest of us" - i.e. the business owner has not paid taxes, including any taxes on profits. This is a political lie/position much favored on the left.
So you can keep on pretending it doesn't until you are blue in the face... but it does
(PS I am in favor of people who earn money paying taxes and don't need leftie liars to make that point)

What so now you're denying that you support Tump in order to completely disrupt the system? You can no longer keep track of the bullshit you spew form moment to moment. Your master has taught you well.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

no, I m saying that the crackers like cruz, not trump.....
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
That's so true...Labor creates all wealth
That's why whenever a group of workers gets together, a factory ready to produce a product that people want to buy magically appears for them to work in, and they instantly have the training for the skills they need to produce the product courtesy of the Skills Fairy....
And of course all productivity increases are due to workers working harder. A US assembly line worker today works much harder than they did 100 years ago; that's the most logical explanation for why productivity is so much higher now than it was then.

Labor creates all wealth--well, sort of.
Labor is an essential part. Can't create wealth without it. But it is only one part of a three legged stool, or tripod, that supports wealth. The other two are physical resources (classical economics lumped this one altogether as 'land') and capital. Without both the other two, you might as well put your money (capital) in a coffee can in your back yard.
And of course this analysis ignores the fourth part that is really essential--customers No matter what your financial backing, All these job creators much loved by the neoconservatives get nowhere without customers to buy the goods or services. Leading me to the principle hated by those same neoconservatives --raising the minimum wage does NOT kill jobs. It circulates more money and McDonalds ends up with more jobs and more profits. The same people who preach against the minimum wage as a job killer ignore the results when Henry Ford began paying his assembly line workers enough to buy the product they were making.
