(Reuters) - As President Donald Trump seeks to discredit last week's election with baseless claims of voter fraud, his team has bombarded his supporters with requests for money to help pay for legal challenges to the results: “The Left will try to STEAL this election!” reads one text.
But any small-dollar donations from Trump's grassroots donors won't be going to legal expenses at all, according to a Reuters review of the legal language in the solicitations.
A donor would have to give more than $8,000 before any money goes to the "recount account" established to finance election challenges, including recounts and lawsuits over alleged improprieties, the fundraising disclosures show.

Or is Trump just taking the opportunity to harvest some low-hanging fruit?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

It's an old school website based on s/w written by the owner. It went live in 1997. There's no ads simply a listing of excerpts and links to other sites, blogs, etc. Readers can add comments and, gosh, even photos. It was newfangled in the days of AOL online and lusenet.ex-khobar Andy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:55 amIt's not even hearsay. I think technically it's called double hearsay. You did not speak directly to the witness - you are reporting what the guy you spoke to, told you what he was told by the alleged witness, his father. And the guy you spoke to was someone you met while buying a truck; so you are unable to provide an independent assessment of his honesty based on more than a few minutes of acquaintance. The Texas Lieutenant Governor is offering $1,000,000 for anyone providing evidence of voter fraud. I'll even give you the website URL for 10% of whatever you get.
Try harder next time, Darren. 1998 is 22 years ago. Honestly, technology has moved on since then.
I talked to the father who was an official ballot counting observer. He was not a poll watcher. He was at the location where the ballots of Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) were counted.
With the recent rulings by judges it looks like any ballots not conforming to PA state law will be thrown out. At this point those are the ballots that were ordered to be segregated. The PA SOS did not have the authority to issue guidance contrary to state law.
I haven't heard about the ballots that were received that did not contain all of the info required by law. Election officials contacted the voters to "cure" the ballot by adding the information. By law those do not count either.
I'm willing to bet PA will be decided for Trump. Anyone?
Thank you RBG wherever you are!

Re: 2020 Election results
If you're talking the late arriving ballots that were received within 3 days of election day, according to what I read, they were being kept separate from the others prior to the judge ruling that they must do that. They were kept aside because they knew a challenge to their validity was coming. In order for them to change the presidential election result the court would need to declare them invalid and the amount would need to exceed over 55,000 with every one of them having been votes for Biden.Darren wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 12:37 amWith the recent rulings by judges it looks like any ballots not conforming to PA state law will be thrown out. One report I read said there are about 93 "cured" ballots. Another one said 49. I have no idea how accurate that is.
I'll bet you Biden will still get the electoral votes from Pennsylvania but I don't want your money.

Re: 2020 Election results
I already accepted your bet, here. Are you offering an additional, separate bet on Pennsylvania alone?

False. Not just false but exhibiting a truly stunning level of both stupidity and ignorance. Literally every sentence in this meme is so wrong and divorced from reality that it seems designed to appeal only to those who are at least as stupid and ignorant as the meme and don't care if everyone knows it.

Absolutely; not even a shred of truth there.

That's the Trumpettes' modus operandi. Facts aren't important when you are disparaging a democrat.

Trump's lawyers withdrew for the same reason that case after case is collapsing all over the country as they are heard - no lawyer is going to risk getting disbarred by repeating Trump's lies in court.Major law firm abandons Team Trump in Pennsylvania election case
To the extent that Donald Trump has a post-election strategy, it involves filing strange lawsuits that most serious people consider ridiculous. Nevertheless, the president is working with two prominent law firms -- Jones Day and Porter Wright Morris & Arthur -- in the hopes of finding some way to hold onto power despite losing his re-election bid.
The New York Times reported earlier this week that these developments -- filing a series of weak cases, without any credible evidence, which undermine the country's democratic system -- was causing "growing discomfort" at the firms. The article added that at Porter Wright, lawyers have "held internal meetings" to voice concerns about the Trump-related cases. At least one lawyer at the firm has already "quit in protest."
It was against this backdrop that the Times had a striking follow-up report this morning:
It was just four days ago when Porter Wright filed a federal case in Pennsylvania, alleging election "irregularities" that neither the firm nor its client have been able substantiate in any way.Porter Wright Morris [and] Arthur, the law firm leading the Trump campaign's efforts to cast doubt on the presidential election results in Pennsylvania, abruptly withdrew from a federal lawsuit that it filed days earlier on behalf of President Trump. "Plaintiffs and Porter Wright have reached a mutual agreement that plaintiffs will be best served if Porter Wright withdraws," the law firm said in a federal court filing.
That was on Monday. On Thursday night, the law firm decided it no longer wanted anything to do with the case.

It’s very dark and overcast here today so I’ve been struggling all day with a case of the glums. I was just chopping onions (for American chop suey I cooked up for the family) and watching MSNBC and I got pretty weepy thinking about Jim and Ray and how they didn’t get to live to see the rat evicted from the WH.
I’m sure it was just the onions. The suey turned out yummy.

What Sue says. Someone didn't pay attention. Biden has been (IMO) castigated for bending over backwards to give Thomas a 'fair' hearing. Although Biden voted Nay in the end in what was essentially a partisan split, he as Senate Judiciary Committee Chair could have done a lot more to give some credibility to Anita Hill. Additional witnesses who generally backed her statements (not the specific details but the general tone) were not called.Sue U wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 3:23 am

I like the McCain meme. But let's not forget that he opened the door for Trump with Sarah Palin.
