And Then There Were Four
Re: And Then There Were Four
Dear Crackpot person:
Please elucidate and explain to us the key to Howard Stern's popularity. I personally find his talent elusive.
But there must be something there - he sure makes a lot of money and has a lot of listeners.

Howard Stern may be lewd crude and crass but he isn't hateful nor does he trade in blame.
You might not like him but the comparisons to him in this tread are lacking.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: And Then There Were Four
Not responsive. Are you sure he is not hateful, or is it just that he hates the same people that you do?
On this very board, we have several posters who incessantly write hateful drivel, but since they all hate the same people and groups, they consider themselves quite enlightened, and not hateful at all.
The question is: Why do people listen to Howard Stern?
I have personally heard him only two or three times, for a total of maybe 5 minutes, so I really don't know. I did see his autobiographical film (my son was in his target audience when it was in theaters), but didn't see anything that would want me to listen to his program.
BTW, when comparing people with massive radio audiences, why is it not appropriate to compare Limbaugh and Stern (and Glen Beck)? They obviously have something that few others have.

Re: And Then There Were Four
I just don't get talk radio...
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is

It's knda like this place only you talk and listen instead of typing and reading.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Howard Stern is monstrously hateful. His "homeless dating game" was based on making fun of mentally damaged people, many of his canned 'schticks' are based on humiliating people who are deformed. He is a nasty sick-fuck bastard who no decent person would ever listen to.

Re: And Then There Were Four
During my years of listening to him I never heard one such show.
Doesn't come up on a google search (at least not related to Stern) either.
HOw much listening have you done Rube?

Re: And Then There Were Four
I've listened to him a half dozen times and each time he was denigrating women. That's my limited experience.

"Private parts" wasn't all bad.

Re: And Then There Were Four
A Mormon has left the Jewish community incensed after 'insensitively' posthumously baptising the parents of a famous Holocaust survivor.
Asher and Rosa Wiesenthal, long-dead parents of the late Simon Wiesenthal, were baptised in a common practice offensive to many Jews.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center was left ‘outraged’ and said the actions make a ‘mockery’ of many meetings between Mormon and Jewish leaders.

Re: And Then There Were Four
Back in the day in this thread we were discussing the (lunatic) idea of Mormons baptising the dead.

Re: And Then There Were Four
I haven't listened to Stern in a long time, (I remember him when he used to broadcast a local show in DC) but a few years ago I caught a few re-broadcasts of his show on E!...
On one show, he was running a contest between a bunch of dorks who were competing to see who could do the grossest thing. The prize? The opportunity to butt fuck a porno actress....
So yes, I'd say that "crude lewd and crass" would definitely apply....

Actually, originally this thread was about the Presidential contest, but you don't see me crying about it....

Re: And Then There Were Four
Surely the Republican "second place to Obama" contest?
