As soon as I saw you had posted in this thread, somehow I just knew it was going to be some sort of Anti-American shot....

I tell ya, I must be psychic...

The odds against my guessing that and being right must be astronomical... :P

"up to $2500" a year
Yeah, that "up to" business is a classic sales technique used to subtly oversell the value of the product; if you pay attention for it, you'll see it's used all the time in TV, radio and print ads)

It's been used for years, and it continues to be used for one reason; it works...

The idea is that the potential customer will recall the large dollar number, (which is said at the end for emphasis, frequently more loudly) and not really notice the "up to " part....(and as I said it works; as apparently it did in oldr's case)

However by having the "up to" in there, the company hawking its wares can technically avoid the accusation of having lied...

So Obama really didn't "lie" in this case, (unlike, "If you like your plan you can keep your plan; period.") however it's really kind of sad to see a President resorting to these kinds of deceptive, cheesy ad campaign tactics to try and win support for his signature legislative achievement...

Still and all, the Affordable Care Act will do more good for more Americans than any Republican President's "signature legislative achievement" since Teddy Roosevelt.
Reason is valuable only when it performs against the wordless physical background of the universe.
