http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/29/politics/ ... on-emails/State Department will not release 22 'top secret' Clinton emails
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration has confirmed for the first time that Hillary Clinton's home server contained closely guarded government secrets, censoring 22 emails that contained material requiring one of the highest levels of classification. The revelation came three days before Clinton competes in the Iowa presidential caucuses.
State Department officials also said the agency's Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus are investigating if any of the information was classified at the time of transmission, going to the heart of Clinton's defense of her email practices.
And this comes from the State Department, where they only have access to the emails she turned over, not the ones that the FBI is recovering that she attempted to destroy, and where her former cronies have bent over backwards to try and cover her ass...
Despite the fantasy world that many Democrats and Liberals live in where only hardcore Hillary Haters care about her systematic and reckless mishandling of classified material, (all the polling indicates that exactly the opposite is true; every poll that's been done on this shows that just about the only ones who don't care are the hardcore partisans on the left...and this is also a major contributing factor to how badly she is upside-down on the "honest and trustworthy" question... the latest number was 59%-34% negative) the wheels continue to grind...
The hardcore Democratic partisans can close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears and go "la, la, la" all they want to; the investigation goes relentlessly forward...
The reason I say that there's only a 50-50 chance that she will be indicted isn't because I believe there's only a 50-50 chance that the evidence will support an indictment; just based on what is already in the public record, there is a 100% chance that she deserves to be charged. If she were anyone else, she would have been charged by now, but clearly they want to have an overwhelmingly tight case with something so politically sensitive. (Also, now that the investigation has expanded into possible public corruption as well as mishandling of state secrets, that's increasing the time the investigation is taking.)
Given the fact that the ultimate decision lies with a Democratic Administration that she served in, I'm only giving a 50-50 chance that the system will work properly, and an indictment will be forthcoming...
What she did is far more egregious then what John Deutsch was charged and convicted for. All he did was take a few classified documents home and keep them in a desk drawer in his home office. (His house was guarded at the time) Hillary by contrast, ordered classified markings removed from classified documents and stored over 1300 of them on an unauthorized, unsecured server in a closet in Colorado. Her offenses weren't a "one off" thing either. She engaged in a multi-year systematic and reckless disregard for national security...
And this is just based on what is known publicly so far...
She continues to shamelessly lie every time she claims that she did nothing that was illegal or even in violation of Administration rules. Anyone who can read and comprehend either the law or the Administration rules...(both of which I have posted here before...) can see that this is complete and utter bullshit...
She's tried to cling to the thin reed about documents not being "marked" classified, (which isn't what she said originally) but she also has said that she knew "very well" the rules regarding classified material, which means she knows that whether or not the classified information was "marked" classified is completely irrelevant. Some official communications are considered automatically classified under both law and policy. (She knows this of course, but she's betting on her supporters either not knowing it or not caring)
And on top of that, we now know that she instructed a subordinate to remove classified markings. (Which is the absolute "smoking gun" on this. That order of hers shows clear consciousness of guilt)
Since she can't come clean because doing so would involve admitting to criminality, and she can't actually provide a defense for what she did, all she (and her minions) can do is continue to lie and engage in diversions...
The latest one is to claim that the IG for the Intelligence Community is part of a Republican plot to destroy her. (This is a pretty big conspiracy now; it includes The FBI, the IGIC, a federal judge, The New York Times, and The Washington Post...all in cahoots with the evil Republicans to destroy the honest and noble Hillary)
Every time there's a new revelation that is made public, her strategy is to condemn the fact that it was made public, and attack the source, rather than to address the revelation...
One thing the lady certainly doesn't lack is chutzpah...
I understand why she has to keep on lying, but when she finally gets called in by the FBI, she better be careful about lying to them.(Or she might find herself "Martha Stewarted" lying to federal law enforcement is a felony)
From a purely legal standpoint she should probably do what the guy who kept the server has done, and take the 5th...
But politically that would be a little problematic....
If she did that, the percentage of Americans who consider her to be "honest and trustworthy" would probably drop from a third to a fourth or less...

Another one of that handful of "Republican morons":
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ber ... d4fe8e7023Bernie Sanders Calls Hillary Clinton's Emails 'A Very Serious Issue'
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is still steering clear of directly attacking opponent Hillary Clinton over her email controversy, but said Sunday it's a "serious issue" -- and that his past statement that he was "sick and tired of hearing about [her] damn emails" doesn't mean he thinks she did nothing wrong.
Clinton, a former secretary of state, is under renewed scrutiny for her use of private email during her time at the State Department. The agency announced Friday that it had withheld 22 emails determined to be "top secret" from public release, although at the time they were sent they were not marked as classified.
CNN's Jake Tapper asked Sanders, an independent senator from Vermont, about his memorable "damn emails" remark in an October debate and whether it meant he didn't think Clinton erred in her use of a private email account.
"Nope, nope. That is not, I think, a fair assessment," Sanders replied on CNN's "State of the Union." "That is, I think, a very serious issue. There is a legal process taking place,[ A legal process? I thought it was just a Republican witch hunt...] I do not want to politicize that issue. It is not my style."
He called the controversy "a serious issue" on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday as well, although again he said he wouldn't make personal attacks on Clinton.
"I am not going to attack Hillary Clinton," Sanders told NBC's Chuck Todd. "The American people will have to make that judgment."

CAST NO STONES?
Attacks and negative judgement calls are rife and made on a daily basis. However, the passive / aggressive behavior being employed speaks (shouts) volumes.Bernie Sanders Calls Hillary Clinton's Emails 'A Very Serious Issue'

The whole campaign so far is couched in nothing more than the expected political rhetoric. No candidate sits above the fray. What a mess... and the whole world is watching. Brace yourself... after Jan 20, 2017 it starts all over again.
God bless America.

"...State Department: Powell, Rice staffers received classified info via personal email
By Jose Pagliery, Deirdre Walsh and Elise Labott, CNN
Colin Powell and top staffers for Condoleezza Rice received classified information through personal email accounts, according to a new report from State Department investigators
Hillary Clinton has received severe criticism for using her personal email account while serving as the nation's top diplomat under President Barack Obama
Washington (CNN)Colin Powell and top staffers for Condoleezza Rice received classified information through personal email accounts, according to a new report from State Department investigators.
Hillary Clinton has received severe criticism -- particularly from Republicans and computer security experts -- for using her personal email account while serving as the nation's top diplomat under President Barack Obama. Thursday's revelation about the two secretaries of state under former President George W. Bush gave her supporters an opportunity to claim the Democratic presidential candidate was being singled out over the practice.
The emails were discovered during a State Department review of the email practices of the past five secretaries of state. It found that Powell received two emails that were classified and that the "immediate staff" working for Rice received 10 emails that were classified.
The information was deemed either "secret" or "confidential," according to the report.
"Based on the department's responses and findings to date, additional potential classified material and/or highly sensitive information not intended for distribution may reside in the Department's unclassified paper and electronic archives associated with Secretaries Powell and Rice and their respective staff," a memo about the report said.
In all the cases, however -- as well as Clinton's -- the information was not marked "classified" at the time the emails were sent, according to State Department investigators.
Powell noted that point in a statement on Thursday.
"The State Department cannot now say they were classified then because they weren't," Powell said. "If the Department wishes to say a dozen years later they should have been classified that is an opinion of the Department that I do not share." ..."

Yeah, that explains why it's all over the news today that the Obama appointed FBI Director has announced that he's ending the 150 agent investigation...And the email "scandal" hits its final wall:
Oh wait...
There are numerous facts that make the attempt to conflate these situations dishonest and disingenuous (though it's no surprise that someone as fundamentally contemptuous of facts and dishonest and disingenuous as rube would make the attempt...)
And of course Hillary and her minions are attempting to do so as well...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... story.htmlJustice Dept. grants immunity to staffer who set up Clinton email server
The Justice Department has granted immunity to a former State Department staffer, who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, as part of a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information, according to a senior law enforcement official.
The official said the FBI had secured the cooperation of Bryan Pagliano, who worked on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign before setting up the server in her New York home in 2009.
As the FBI looks to wrap up its investigation in the coming months, agents are likely to want to interview Clinton and her senior aides about the decision to use a private server, how it was set up, and whether any of the participants knew they were sending classified information in emails, current and former officials said.
The inquiry comes against a political backdrop in which Clinton is the favorite to secure the Democratic nomination for the presidency.

I'm surprised they hadn't given him immunity sooner. Didn't he plead the 5th previously?
Re: The Drip Drip Drip...
Yes he did.
Sometimes the details of an immunity deal can take a while to hammer out. Also they probably waited until they had everything lined up that they wanted to ask...
I strongly suspect that this isn't the last immunity deal we are going to see on this. You cut immunity deals with the little fish to get the big fish...

Regardless, I can't see an indictment by the Feds until after the November election and then into the new year. Obviously, Hillary will be (is) the Dems nominee, right? If she get "arrested" before November 8th it will throw our entire democratic process into turmoil. Bernie Sanders just couldn't be handed the leadership role, nor could the Repub's nominee merely be handed the presidency on a silver platter. We'd have to start from scratch and have some kind of special election, otherwise. And that seems very unrealistic to me.Lord Jim wrote:... I strongly sense that Federal charges against Hillary will not happen until after she's inaugurated on January 20th, if only for national unity... or something close to that concept. With a little luck maybe President HRC will beat William Henry Harrison's record for least time in office. Wouldn't that be somethin'?

- Security Logs of Hillary Clinton’s Email Server Are Said to Show No Evidence of Hacking
WASHINGTON — A former aide to Hillary Clinton has turned over to the F.B.I. computer security logs from Mrs. Clinton’s private server, records that showed no evidence of foreign hacking, according to people close to a federal investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s emails.
The security logs bolster Mrs. Clinton’s assertion that her use of a personal email account to conduct State Department business while she was the secretary of state did not put American secrets into the hands of hackers or foreign governments.

Some Chick ‘Made History’ On Super Tuesday, We Guess
Someone else is going to have to clean up all this shattered glass. She’s busy.
By Kaili Joy Gray - March 2, 2016 - 9:00am
Maybe you do not like her. Maybe you hate her. Maybe you think she is untrustworthy, unlikable, unelectable, unwhateverable. She is too stiff and double-entendre frigid. She is too crybaby emotional and shouty and shrill. She travelgated to Whitewater to drown-murder Vince Foster in a lesbian rage, with her headband. She private-jetted to Benghazi to lie about four dead Americans, in her secret email faxes to her favorite yoga pals while watching “The Good Wife” and snacking on gefilte fish. She’s been around too long and done too much, and she’s accomplished nothing except marrying well. She is the embodiment of evil in a pantsuit.
But on Super Tuesday, Madam First Lady Senator Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton Esquire made some motherfuckin’ history, y’all.
She won seven states — Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia — and with one exception, she did so very decisively. Like, landslide decisively:
Clinton won 453 delegates on Tuesday, compared to Sanders’s 284. If you factor in superdelegates — elected Democrats and party leaders who are free to support any candidate, but have overwhelmingly lined up for Clinton — she’s nearly halfway to the nomination already.
A hundred years ago, women couldn’t vote. Fifty years ago, women couldn’t have credit cards in their own name. On this very day, in the year 2016, a mostly male Supreme Court will hear arguments about whether the state of Texas, and thus the country, has the right to make it all but impossible for women to receive reproductive healthcare because male legislators consider vaginas inherently icky, and they believe women’s medical decisions are far too important to leave up to women. For their own good, of course.
Now, Democrats are this close to nominating a woman for president. And that — even if you don’t like her or her husband or her politics or her hairstyle — is a hell of a thing.
(It's from Wonkette, so of course it's chock-full-o-snark...hey, what else would you expect from the self-described "Nasty Vile Little Snark Mob"? Deal with it.)

Condoleezza Rice Aides, Colin Powell Also Got Classified Info on Personal Emails
by Ken Dilanian
State Department officials have determined that classified information was sent to the personal email accounts of former Secretary of State Colin Powell and the senior staff of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, NBC News has learned.
In an interview with NBC News, Powell challenged the conclusion, saying nothing that went to his personal account was secret. A Rice spokeswoman said the emails were about diplomatic communications.
In a letter to Undersecretary of State Patrick Kennedy dated Feb. 3, State Department Inspector General Steve Linick said that the State Department has determined that 12 emails examined from State's archives contained national security information now classified "Secret" or "Confidential." The letter was obtained by NBC News.
Two of the messages were sent to Powell's personal account, and 10 were sent to personal accounts of Rice's senior aides, the letter said.
